The Fundamental Rule: How Do You Prove You Are "Extraordinary"?
USCIS offers you two ways to prove extraordinary ability:
Method One: To receive a significant, one-time award that is recognized internationally.
Method Two (Common and Strategic):Meeting at least 3 of the 8 criteria listed below.

8 Criteria and the Clinch Strategy
It is not enough to just "tick" these boxes. Each item must be part of a story that supports your authority in your field.

1. Prizes and Awards
USCIS Requirement: You must have received nationally or internationally recognized prizes or awards for excellence in your field.
Clinch Interpretation: University scholarships or "Employee of the Month" awards from your employer do not count. However, awards received from a reputable association or competition in your sector are strong evidence when the jury criteria and the prestige of the award are explained correctly.
2. Memberships
USCIS Requirement: You must be a member of associations that require outstanding achievements of their members.
Clinch Interpretation:Associations that you can join simply by paying dues are not valid. We include institutions in the file whose membership conditions seek "distinguished achievement," "jury selection," or "expertise."
3. Published Material
USCIS Requirement: There must be published material in professional or major trade publications or major media about you or relating to your work.
Clinch Interpretation: It is important not just what you have written, but what has been written about you. If you haven't had enough press coverage, we plan how you can satisfy this criterion with a strategic PR effort.
4. Judging
USCIS Requirement: You must have participated, either individually or on a panel, as a judge of the work of others in the same or an allied field.
Clinch Interpretation:Reviewing articles in peer-reviewed journals, serving on thesis juries, or being a judge at Hackathons or industry competitions fall under this scope. This proves that you are the "evaluating" authority, not the "evaluated."
5. Original Contribution
USCIS Requirement: You must have made original scientific, scholarly, or business-related contributions of major significance in your field.
Clinch Interpretation:Patents alone are not enough; we must prove that the patent is used in the sector or solves a problem. In the business world, we highlight the tangible value (revenue, efficiency, etc.) that the systems you established added to your company or the sector.
6. Scholarly Articles
USCIS Requirement: You must have authored scholarly articles in professional journals or other major media in your field.
Clinch Interpretation:It is not enough just to publish; the citation numbers these articles receive show the "impact" of the success.
7. Critical or Leading Role
USCIS Requirement: You must have performed in a leading or critical role for organizations or establishments that have a distinguished reputation.
Clinch Interpretation:Being the founder of a startup, the chief engineer of a project, or the department director of a large company... What is important here is to prove the prestige of the institution you work for and your indispensability to that institution.
8. High Remuneration
USCIS Requirement: You must have commanded a high salary or other significantly high remuneration for services, in relation to others in the field.
Clinch Interpretation:We present this by comparing your payrolls with average salary statistics in that region and sector.
Special Note: If one of these criteria does not readily apply to your occupation (for example, an entrepreneur might not write articles), we reserve the right to submit "Comparable Evidence." The law is flexible here, provided the strategy is built correctly.
Meeting Criteria Is Not Enough: "Totality of Evidence"
Many applications can be rejected even if the candidate meets 3 criteria. Why? Because the officer conducts a "Totality of Evidence" review in the final stage.
The officer asks this question: "This person meets the requirements on paper, but are they truly at the top?"
