01 · License
Where do you get a driver license in Enterprise, and is there a counter here?
Short answer
The rest of this page will tell you that you have no municipal government. On licensing that changes almost nothing, because licensing, ID cards, vehicle registration, insurance and emissions are state business and all of them run through the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. The one thing that does change is geography: we found no licensing and registration office inside Enterprise, so residents use the offices elsewhere in Clark County. The rule itself has two paths, and the difference between them is not only the document list, it is what happens to your information. We put the agency's own two sentences side by side below; this page does not decide which one fits you.
Steps, documents and official links
The only thing that differs here is the address, not the rule
On small-settlement pages this series usually writes: that service is not here, you will drive to the city. Here that sentence would be wrong, because licensing was never a municipal function. Enterprise could have a city hall and the license would still come from the state agency. That is why, in transport, being unincorporated shows up in only three items: no licensing office of your own, policing by a county-wide department, and a service density lower than the center of the valley. Everything else is the same rule as in our state guide.
We print no office address. The agency's branch list was not read separately in this research, and on top of that a 2026 agency notice reports that two offices are being consolidated. Going to the wrong counter costs half a day here: book through the agency's own system and read the location off the appointment screen.
The two sentences at the center of this page, side by side
Nevada issues a separate card to a person who cannot document status: the Driver Authorization Card. The agency's own driver handbook says two different things for the two paths, and we carry both exactly as written.
- For the Driver Authorization Card: Information used to obtain a Driver Authorization Card will not be released or used to determine legal presence or immigration status.
- For a standard license or REAL ID: Any immigration documents presented will be submitted for electronic verification of lawful status.
The second sentence is about the documents presented; it is not a threat about the card. The first is not a general protection either, it is a limit on how information is used and released. Neither a promise nor a warning: we put both texts in front of you, and you and your attorney make the decision. We could not read the full text of the cited sections, because the state legislature's site did not open by any route in this round; section numbers appear only as the agency itself cites them.
What the card says on its face
The agency describes it this way: there are only two differences between the Driver Authorization Card and a standard license. The card states Not Valid for ID in the top portion, and the blue banner reads Driver Authorization Card. In the agency's own words, the appearance is otherwise identical. So the card is not set apart by a colored stripe; the difference is one phrase and one banner. It is valid four years, expires on your birthday, and renewals and address changes are done in person only.
A standard license or REAL ID issued on temporary-status documents carries a different mark: in the agency's own words the face of the card reads Limited Term, and it expires on the departure date electronically verified by the federal security department. A standard card that is not a REAL ID reads NOT FOR REAL ID PURPOSES. Three phrases, three different things; do not mix them up.
Where the card works and where it does not
| Door | Does the card work |
|---|---|
| Driving on Nevada roads | Works |
| Registering and insuring a vehicle | Works |
| Identification on the agency's own forms | Works |
| Boarding an aircraft | Does not work |
| Entering a federal building that asks for identification | Does not work |
| Benefits, licenses and services issued by the state and its political subdivisions | Does not work |
| A passport application | Does not work |
| Private businesses (cashing a check, a notary, buying alcohol) | At the business's discretion. The agency's own wording: private businesses have the right to accept or deny it |
| A reduced-fare transit identification | We could not find out. The transit lists say driver license or state ID card and do not say whether this card substitutes |
| A work card application | We could not find out |
| Opening a bank account | We could not find out. Banks are private businesses, but the agency does not address banks separately |
| Employment eligibility paperwork (I-9) | We could not find out. That is a federal matter outside the state agency's authority |
| A county social service application | We could not find out. The county asks for a valid state-issued photo ID; we could not confirm from the county's own text whether this card opens that door |
All five could not find out lines are questions from ordinary life, and we are not guessing. The one-sentence summary: this card says you may drive; it does not say you are identified.
Is lawful presence required: two sentences disagree
The published document list for the card contains no lawful-status document, and the agency writes that the information used for the card will not be used to determine legal presence. Against that, the agency's new-resident page says foreign nationals may or may not be eligible for a license or a driver authorization card depending on their specific immigration status. The two sentences do not point the same way and we print both; we take no side. Ask the agency about your own situation and write down the answer with the date.
Documents, translation, and the residency requirement that hits an Enterprise tenant hardest
Identity for the Driver Authorization Card is met through one of three options, and the third option matters directly to a Turkish reader: two of the following together are accepted, a foreign passport, a foreign birth certificate, a consular identification card, another state's driver license or ID card, another state's driver authorization card, and another document issued by a foreign government. So a foreign passport plus a foreign birth certificate is expressly accepted on the agency's own list. Most of those same documents are rejected for a standard license, and the agency says so on its own page. The system is deliberately two-doored.
Translation is not skipped: every document not in English needs a complete translation from a translator the agency has approved; summaries are not accepted, the translation must be written, and it must carry the translator's signed statement including the number the agency issued them. The translator list is on the agency's own page.
And there is a trap specific to this settlement. Proving Nevada residency takes two documents showing your name and your street address; a post office box is not accepted. For a tenant in Enterprise that is harder than it looks: the sewer bill goes to the property owner from the start, and the owner is the named party on the trash bill too. So the number of bills that can carry a tenant's name here is two: the water district's bill and the electricity bill. Open both in your own name; a household that delays this in the first month is delaying the card too. The agency's accepted list also includes a lease with your name on it, a pay stub, a bank statement, a vehicle insurance card, a hotel or recreational vehicle park record longer than thirty days, and a notarised statement from a Nevada resident. The last two are a real way out for someone spending the first month in a hotel or with relatives, and the agency publishes its own forms for this.
Tests, language and deadlines
- A Turkish license is not exchanged. An applicant licensed in a foreign country other than Canada is asked for all three tests: vision, knowledge and skills. The agency's only published reciprocity program is for Taiwan; research found no such program with Türkiye. We do not say there is none.
- An interpreter is allowed for the knowledge test, and the agency says so on its own page. An applicant who lacks English or Spanish may use an interpreter for the written examination; the interpreter must bring an approval letter from a government agency, a court, an educational institution or a non-profit advocacy organization, sign a statement at every session and complete the agency's form. A family member may not interpret, the applicant pays the interpreter, and no interpreter is allowed on the skills test. Research found no record of the test being offered in Turkish; only English and Spanish were found.
- Deadline: the agency's handbook gives thirty days to someone moving from another U.S. state. We found no agency sentence giving the same period to someone arriving directly from abroad; we do not generalise, so ask the agency.
- Another state's card is surrendered. The agency requires an out-of-state license or ID card to be handed in; it is punched and returned to you while the new card comes by mail.
Fee lines and the two recorded fee conflicts are collected in the license section of our state guide; read the agency's fee page yourself before you go.

02 · Vehicle
How do you register a car in Enterprise, and is there an emissions test?
Short answer
Three sentences. One: registration is state business too, not municipal and not county, and a car can be registered and insured on a driver authorization card. Two: an emissions test is required here, because Enterprise sits inside the valley; but the program area is a drawn boundary, not a county line, so no one can write "if you are in the county you are covered." Three, and this is the expensive one: Nevada gives no grace period for a lapse in insurance, a single uninsured day can suspend the registration, and a car driven on a suspended registration can be impounded.
Steps, documents and official links
A car here is infrastructure, not a comfort
We write this first because the rest of the page rests on it. The regional transit authority does serve this area, but the evidence is indirect and the frequency is lower than at the center, there is no licensing counter here, no marriage counter here, no vital records counter here. The answer to all of those sits somewhere else in the valley, and for most households the way there is a car. We print no distance figures, because none came from a source; but build the plan around this fact.
What a new resident needs to register
- Insurance written for Nevada. The agency is blunt: an out-of-state policy is not accepted. Have the policy rewritten for Nevada before you move; the gap in between is a suspension risk.
- A vehicle identification inspection for a car coming from out of state, done at the inspection station outside the main building of the larger offices, before the appointment. A sworn law enforcement officer or an authorized business using the agency's form can also do it.
- An emissions report where required, the current registration, current mileage and the out-of-state plates. Carry the plates in; the agency does not hand out tools.
- Governmental services tax exemptions run at county level and the approving office is the Clark County Assessor. Veterans, disabled veterans, surviving spouses, blind persons and military personnel stationed in Nevada are covered. There is no exemption based on age or on the value of the car.
Emissions: a drawn area, not a county line
The program is the Nevada Emission Control Program, run by the state agency's compliance division. A test is required if the vehicle is in the Las Vegas Valley or its surrounding buffer, is a 1968 model or newer, is petrol-powered or a diesel under the stated weight, and the registration status calls for it. Enterprise is inside the valley, so the test applies here. But the same county contains exempt rural pockets, which is why summarising the rule by county name would be wrong.
- Once a year, and the test is good for ninety days (one hundred and eighty for a car bought from a Nevada dealer).
- A new vehicle is exempt for its first three registrations and tested on the fourth. Hybrids are exempt for the first five model years. Electric vehicles, motorcycles and pre-1968 models are outside the program.
- If the test is failed there is a waiver regime, and it differs between the two counties. On the Clark County side repairs count only if done by an authorized station and the spending threshold is high; repairs the owner makes do not earn a waiver no matter the cost. The rule is looser in the northern county, but do not carry that answer here.
- The Clark County Division of Air Quality runs a payment program for emissions-related repairs on older vehicles; it is income-limited and we could not verify the threshold. Confirm the program and its scope from the agency's own page.
- The one rule that applies outside the program area: a petrol vehicle in Nevada may not emit visible smoke, and the agency runs a public reporting program to enforce it.
Maximum testing fees and the difference between the two counties are in the vehicle section of our state guide.
Insurance: the hardest item is the absence of any grace period
- The regime is at-fault, the minimum limits are 25/50/20, and there is no grace period. If the policy lapses even for a day the registration can be suspended and reinstating it carries a fee. This is the most expensive first-month mistake a new household makes in this state.
- The list of prohibited rating factors is long: state law bars the use of income, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, address, postal code, ethnic group, religion, marital status and national origin in calculating an insurance score. Do not blur the limit: the prohibition is about how the score is calculated, not about general territorial rating. It is not the same thing as the postal-code prohibition in another of our state guides.
- Limits and rating detail are in the insurance section of our state guide.
There are no tolls, and yet the toll messages arrive
For the first time in this series we can write there are none rather than we could not find any, because the sentence comes from the agency itself: in its own scam bulletin the state motor vehicle agency states that Nevada does not have tolls on public roads and that any payment towards such a fine is illegitimate. The only toll facility recorded for Nevada in the federal inventory is a park road inside a state park.
The practical consequence is plain: every toll-fine text message you receive is a scam. The agency's own warning list names these signs: poor spelling and grammar, coercive or threatening language, a sense of urgency, and a link that does not match the agency's address. A second agency bulletin warns about messages that appear to come from the state security department and threaten license suspension or a registration block; the agency's sentence is: these notices are not legitimate and we will never ask for payment this way. A newcomer is more exposed to these, because they do not yet know which agencies can write to them at all.
The hidden cost of delaying registration
Entrance, camping and boat-launch fees at state parks are charged by license plate, and a vehicle without Nevada plates pays the higher rate at every gate. Annual permits are tied to plate numbers too. So delaying registration is not only an administrative delay, it is money per weekend. We open this up in the things to do section.

Is winter driving an issue in Enterprise?
Short answer
This section is deliberately short, because this is the inside of a desert basin and a snow regime almost never enters everyday driving here. We could not read an official Nevada rule text on winter tyres, chain requirements or pass closures in this research; we do not say there is none, we say we could not find one. In this settlement the weight of this section is carried by two other things, and both arrive in summer: a shutoff moratorium triggered by temperature and the watering calendar. The seasonal risk here is not in January, it is in July.
Steps, documents and official links
What we do not know, stated plainly
- We could not read a statewide winter tyre or studded tyre rule. The state legislature's site did not open by any route in this round and this item fell into that gap.
- There cannot be an Enterprise snow ordinance, because there is no municipality here that could adopt one. If such a rule exists it is inside the Clark County Code and the authority is the county.
- Going up into the mountains changes the answer. Winter is real on the western and north-western heights above the valley, and the road up can close. When it snows, read the road conditions for where you are going, not for your own street.
Here the season has a different name
- The shutoff moratorium is triggered by temperature, not by the calendar. If the national weather service forecasts 105 degrees Fahrenheit or higher or 15 degrees Fahrenheit or lower for any twenty-four-hour period, a disconnection for non-payment is postponed. It is a postponement, not a cancellation, and it does not cover water. Detail in the utilities section.
- The watering rule puts a clock on the summer. Between 1 May and 31 August, spray irrigation between 11:00 and 19:00 is itself water waste and carries a fee. This is the most common first-month mistake a new household makes. Detail in the water restrictions section.
- The car wants different things in this climate. Battery, cooling system and tyre pressure matter more here than winter preparation does, and whether your parking spot has shade is not a question of comfort. Think separately about children and pets in a parked car.
- Agencies publish their own outdoor warnings: a daily water amount per person, areas with no lifeguard, and some facilities closing in the middle of a summer day. We carry those in the agencies' own words in the things to do section.
Time zone and Türkiye
Nevada is on Pacific time and observes daylight saving; Türkiye does not. That means the difference between the two changes twice a year on its own, and the number you memorised is wrong for part of the year. If you are calling the consulate or an office in Türkiye, recalculate the window each time; we wrote the detail in the time and flights section.
04 · Impound
If my car is towed in Enterprise, who do I ask?
Short answer
The answer here is different from other pages in this series, and the difference comes precisely from having no municipality. There is no city code officer to call in Enterprise; in the unincorporated areas of Clark County policing is provided by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, headed by the elected Sheriff of Clark County. The department also has an area command here: the Enterprise Area Command. On money we have to be honest: we could not verify the maximum consumer towing and storage charges and we print no figures.
Steps, documents and official links
The postal trap shows up in a single line
On the department's own list of area commands there is an Enterprise Area Command, and that station's own address is printed as Las Vegas, NV 89113. So even the station named after Enterprise has a Las Vegas mailing address. That is this page's whole confusion in one sentence: the envelope says Las Vegas, there is no city, the station is called Enterprise, and the authority is the county. Do not substitute one for another.
If your car has been towed
- Call law enforcement first and ask whether the car was towed. Rule out theft on the first call; the two run entirely different paths. The authority here is not the City of Las Vegas, it is the county-wide department, and the local station is the Enterprise Area Command.
- Ask which lot it went to, who may collect it and how payment is taken. Write down the answer, who you spoke to and the time. We print no lot address, because we could not verify one.
- Have proof of ownership ready: the title, a current registration or a lease, plus the plate or vehicle identification number.
- Do not underestimate the photo ID requirement. If what you hold is a driver authorization card, it states on its face that it is not valid as identification, and whether the lot accepts it is at the private business's discretion. Take your passport too, and ask on the phone rather than at the gate.
- A tow from a private lot is a separate matter. There the decision belongs to the property owner, not to law enforcement, and the rule book is the lease. Look for the parking rule and the towing company in your lease; apartment and homeowner association managements have their own arrangements.
The two most concrete ways a car gets towed
- Driving on a suspended registration. The agency's own wording says officers must seize the plates and may impound the vehicle when it is driven on a suspended registration. The most common cause of suspension is a lapse in insurance, and this state has no grace period.
- An abandoned vehicle report. A car left motionless for a long time can become the subject of a report. If you travel, think about where the car is left and who knows about it.
Charges: why we print no figures
Licensing and tariffs for towing operators sit with a state-level authority; every licensed operator files its own tariff there, and under the authority's model tariffs every line on a towing invoice has to be itemised. That rule is useful to you: if the invoice shows a single total, ask for the breakdown. But the authority's own site did not open at all in this research and we could not verify the consumer-facing maximums. If you see a tariff circulating online, ask where it came from.
If a family member is detained
Read this paragraph as a note to pin on the fridge. The first hours of a detention go to phone calls, a lawyer and arrangements for the children; the car is the last thing anyone thinks of, and yet storage accrues every night. Our advice is concrete: collect the car early, keep a copy of the ownership document somewhere reachable at home, and make sure at least one other person in the household holds the papers needed to collect it. A notarised authorization is the single most useful preparation in every scenario where a car is left behind. The case itself is federal, not county; we wrote the detail in the court section and in the address reporting section.
05 · Transit
If Enterprise has no municipality, does it have no bus either?
Short answer
No, and this is the most reassuring sentence in the section: transit was never a municipal function. Service across the whole urban part of Clark County is provided by a single regional authority, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, and unincorporated areas are inside its service area. So "no city, no bus" is wrong here. Where we have to be careful is the strength of the evidence: no individual stop location inside Enterprise could be verified, and what we hold is indirect. There is also a structural detail: this area appears to fall inside the authority's on-demand service zone, so service here may work by request rather than only by fixed route.
Steps, documents and official links
The evidence chain, as it stands
We are not softening this: the authority's own site was closed to this research and the information came from its publications on its open file server and from its live page as read through a search index. What we hold is this: the authority's own system map shows the Enterprise Library among its points of interest; the large retail and entertainment destinations in the same area are listed as served points of interest; and the authority's on-demand micro-transit service has a zone covering the south-west of the valley. These are strong but indirect indications. We assert no stop location and we ask one thing of you: before you move, call the authority and give them your own address.
Three separate questions, because there are three separate coverages
- Fixed route. Is there a stop within walking distance of my address, which route, and how often?
- On-demand service. Is my address inside the zone, how far in advance must a trip be requested, and how does a trip leaving the zone work? For an Enterprise resident this is probably the most important question, because the settlement sits away from the center and fixed-route frequency may be lower than downtown.
- Paratransit. The service area is defined separately; if anyone in the household needs it, ask about it on its own.
Fares and cards: no identification or number is asked for here
- No official page we read requires identification or a number to ride at the ordinary fare. For a household without a number that is a genuine open door. You can board with cash, but the authority's own notice says in capitals: no change is given, exact fare only.
- Passes are not sold on board. They come through the authority's own app, authorized retailers and selected ticket machines. Some pass types are sold only through the app.
- Reduced fares exist for youth, riders sixty and over, veterans, people with disabilities and holders of federal health insurance cards; using one requires the authority's reduced-fare identification or one of the documents it lists. Research found no Social Security number on the authority's document list; but what the list does ask for is a photo identification, and we could not verify whether a driver authorization card works at that door. Ask the authority directly before you apply.
- Children five and under ride free when accompanied by a responsible person.
- Read the fare table in the state guide and do not mix it with the northern authority's: two authorities, two fare tables, two apps.
Airport, trains and the private systems in the corridor
- The region's scheduled airport is Harry Reid International Airport, and the airport too is inside no municipal boundary. The bus routes serving it belong to the same regional authority; the airport's own page names the authority and there is a ticket machine in the terminal.
- There is no passenger train anywhere in Clark County. The state's passenger rail service exists only in the north; this is one of the sharpest items separating the southern settlements from the northern one.
- The rail and private systems in the resort corridor do not belong to the transit authority, they take separate tickets, and the corridor's single-line system does not go to the airport, which the airport states in its own question and answer. If you are heading to the airport, do not rely on the corridor system.
- Do not expect a nonstop flight towards Istanbul. Connecting routes and the time difference are in the time and flights section.
A realistic plan for a household without a car
- Call the authority before signing a lease. This may be the cheapest and most useful single phone call on this page, because the answer can change which apartment you take.
- Batch your appointments. Put the counter, the doctor, the library and the shopping on the same day; four errands on one trip cost less here than four separate trips.
- Learn the request window for the on-demand service before you rely on it for a shift or a flight.
- Build a neighborhood network. That is the only real compensation in small and new settlements; school and work are where it gets built.
06 · Local government
How do you reach the city government in Enterprise?
Short answer
You do not, because there is no city government here. Enterprise is an unincorporated town of Clark County, and the county's own document says it in one sentence: In Nevada, County Commissioners are the legally constituted town boards for all unincorporated towns. While all official governmental decisions are made by the Board of County Commissioners… There is no mayor, no town council, no town police, no town court and no town tax. The advisory board here is appointed and is not a decision-making body: it cannot issue a permit, cannot fine anyone and cannot pass an ordinance.
Steps, documents and official links
Orientation first: the name you are looking for may not appear on this page
Some readers of this page have never seen the word Enterprise on a sign. The names used on the ground and in everyday speech are not the settlement name but subdivision names: in the county's own parks system the parks in this area are filed under names like Mountain's Edge and Southern Highlands. Yet both the census and the county call this area Enterprise; in the county's own search system Enterprise is a filter value, not a town hall.
The practical consequence: searching under your own neighborhood name may return no official match, and in the county's system you will find yourself under a different name. That is the reason behind much of what follows. And there is a third name: the one printed on your envelope.
Your envelope says Las Vegas, but the City of Las Vegas does not govern your house
A household here almost certainly has a postal address reading Las Vegas, NV. That is a postal designation only and proves nothing about jurisdiction. The county's own text draws the line in a single sentence: most residents living south of Sahara Avenue and across much of the outskirts of the urban valley are not inside a city boundary and receive their traditional urban services from the county rather than from any municipality.
So an Enterprise resident who calls the City of Las Vegas about a pothole, a building permit, a business license, zoning or a code complaint is calling an authority that does not cover their house. The same trap appears on the law enforcement side: the county department's local station here is called the Enterprise Area Command, and yet that station's own address is printed as Las Vegas, NV 89113.
There is one tool that settles this in a single click, and we name it: the county's Where am I Located? jurisdiction lookup. You type your address and it tells you whose jurisdiction you are in. Use it before you move and before you write to any agency; it may be the single most useful link on this page.
The chain of authority has three links, and we print it as a chain
- Policing and everyday order → the county-wide department, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, headed by the elected Sheriff of Clark County. There is no municipal code enforcement officer to call, because this is not a police municipality.
- Political representation and services → the Clark County Board of County Commissioners. The elected official who represents you is a county commissioner elected from a geographic district for four years. The Enterprise Town Advisory Board is a conduit in that chain, not a government: its five members are appointed by the county commission for two-year terms, members must live inside the town boundary, and its job is to give opinions on planning, zoning and public works, carry residents' problems to the commission or county staff, and bring county information back to residents.
- Litigation → your immigration case is federal, not county. We wrote the detail in the court section.
We print no board member names, because a new term begins in January 2027 and the roster will change. For meeting place and schedule, use the county's own page.
The town is its own taxing district, but the money and the decisions sit with the county
The county defines it this way: an unincorporated town is a defined area receiving additional services paid for by its residents through property taxes, and under state law each separate town is considered an individual taxing district. But the same text goes on: all financial and legal responsibility rests with the county commission. So there is a budget line in the town's name and no government.
The county describes itself as carrying a tri-part responsibility: simultaneously a regional, an urban and a town government. In its own words it provides the unincorporated valley with all those functions normally associated with a city: public works, building inspections, parks and recreation, fire protection and street sweeping. One more detail explains the structure: the same seven elected people also sit as the governing board of the water district, the water reclamation district and the county public hospital.

The complaint channel is not 311, and the county prints its own warning
Research found no 3-1-1 line operated by the county under that name. The channel is called Fix It Clark County and the unit behind it is the Clark County Code Enforcement - Public Response Office. Complaints about zoning, blighted properties, graffiti, unpermitted construction and short-term rentals go through this unit.
- General line (702) 455-4191. There are separate lines for graffiti, (702) 455-4509, and for short-term rentals, (702) 455-8314.
- The office is open Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 17:30, and closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So something you find on a Friday waits until Monday.
- This warning has to be on the page, because the county writes it itself: name, address and telephone number are requested in case further information is needed, and if you provide your name or other personal information it may be disclosed, even if you request to remain anonymous. The county gives its reason too: everything it collects is public under the public records act. A newcomer who assumes a complaint stays confidential is wrong.
The library: the system is clear, the conditions are weakly verified
The system is the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, and in this area the district has branches named the Enterprise Library and the Windmill Library. From here on we owe you a warning: the district's own site did not open by any route in this research, and the conditions below come from indirect readings of the district's published texts. We print no branch address and we ask you to confirm every line below by telephoning the branch.
- Instant online card: appears to be open to anyone who lives, works, studies in or visits Clark County; the card number and PIN are emailed. The district says it uses a third-party identity verification service.
- The full card issued at a branch asks for photo identification and proof of current residence.
- There is a separate card for people with no address or who cannot verify one, with a lower borrowing limit. The quotation we read says five items and no expiry. This may be the most open door on this page for a household short of papers, and it is also the most weakly verified line. Ask the branch for this card by name.
- A Social Security number appears nowhere in the district's published card requirements. We write that as a number does not appear in the published requirements, not as "no number is required"; the difference matters.
The counters that are not here, and where to go instead
- No licensing office of your own. You use the state agency's offices elsewhere in Clark County; detail in the license section.
- No marriage counter of your own. The license comes from the county clerk's bureau in Las Vegas, and the county's own government center does not issue them; detail in the marriage section.
- No vital records counter of your own. Birth and death certificates come from the county health district; detail in the birth certificate section.
- No passport acceptance counter of your own, and one more warning: neither Enterprise nor the neighboring town appears in the federal data file, so searching under your own settlement name returns nothing at all. Detail in the passport section.
- No parks of your own, but there are parks. Every park here belongs to the county; the county's own system lists roughly nineteen parks under this settlement's name, all in the county's south-west quadrant. We wrote the names and what is where in the things to do section.
07 · Utilities
Who bills you in Enterprise, and how do you open an account?
Short answer
The one-sentence summary: a single household sits under three separate legal regimes, and you can tell which door to use from the provider's name. Electricity and gas are inside the state regulator's rule book; water districts and trash collection are outside it, and the regulator names them one by one. The second structural surprise concerns tenants directly: there is no sewer account for you to open here, because the responsible party is the property owner from the start; and the owner is the named party on the trash bill too.
Steps, documents and official links
The provider map
| Service | Provider | Regulated |
|---|---|---|
| Electricity | Nevada Power Company, trading as NV Energy | Yes, by the state regulator |
| Natural gas | Southwest Gas Corporation | Yes |
| Water | Las Vegas Valley Water District | No |
| Sewer | Clark County Water Reclamation District | No |
| Trash | A franchised private company through the county franchise services division | No |
Electricity and gas are identical to the neighboring cities. Being unincorporated changes nothing in those two items; what changes is water, sewer and trash.
The rule you can read off the name
The regulator names them on its own consumer page: for the Las Vegas Valley Water District, the Southern Nevada Water Authority and the northern water authority it says contact your county commission, and it states plainly that it has no regulatory authority over trash collection services. The regulator also gives a naming rule: it does not regulate providers whose names contain authority, district or mutual.
The practical consequence: for a dispute over an electricity or gas bill you can complain to the regulator. For water, sewer and trash that door is closed and the authority is the county commission, that is the same seven elected people. And the water and wastewater districts are already governed by those seven; the board of the utility you are complaining about and the board you would complain to are the same.
Is a number asked for when you open an account?
- On water the district has its own sentence, and it is one of the clearest answers in this series: resident aliens may be asked for a passport, a state identification number and/or a consular identification card, and international customers may be asked for a passport number. One limit sits in the same passage: expired passports are not acceptable. The district's binding service rules ask only for full name and valid identification information; its web form, however, asks for the last four digits of a Social Security number. We could not verify whether the district will open an account on photo identification alone, so call before going in person.
- On electricity and gas the regulator's own answer is this: some utilities may require a Social Security number, but many provide an alternative such as a driver's license number. The electric utility's own privacy text lists driver's license, passport and state identification among documents that may be requested to verify identity.
- We could not find out whether a taxpayer identification number is accepted. It appears neither in the tariff nor in the privacy text; we do not write that it is accepted.
- A neighboring city publishes a written workaround, letting a customer who does not want an identity check by telephone open the account in person at city hall with photo identification. That solution belongs to that city's own customers and has no counterpart here; your water utility is a different body and publishes no such written route. Do not carry the neighboring city's answer onto this page.
Deposits: two different rules for electricity and water
- No guarantor may be required for electricity. The utility's own tariff says a customer may not be required to use a guarantor to begin service. Credit can be established through a previous account, or through residential service from another regulated energy utility within the last two years paid on time for twelve months.
- On a new account the deposit is capped at one hundred and fifty percent of the estimated average monthly bill, calculated from the last twelve months of actual usage at that premise. The deposit is waived on documentation for people receiving disability benefits, people receiving social security or retirement payments, active military, veterans, and anyone who enrols in automatic bank payment and keeps it. That last one is a documented, rule-based way out for a newcomer with no U.S. credit file. For elderly customers the cap is halved.
- The water rule is heavier: a new customer who has not established credit with the district is asked for a deposit of not less than two and a half times the highest monthly bill over a twelve-month period. A surety bond acceptable to the district may be offered instead of cash, and the deposit earns interest, credited quarterly. The deposit must be paid in full on the day it is assessed or service may not be activated on the day requested; installments are at the district's discretion.
- Turning the water on has its own fee: $10 normally, $15 for a same-day add-on, $70 after hours and on holidays. Plan your moving day around that; a household that moves on a Saturday afternoon pays this line.
The shutoff moratorium: triggered by temperature, not the calendar
The electric utility's tariff on file with the regulator postpones a disconnection for non-payment during a forecast period of extreme temperature: the moratorium applies to any twenty-four-hour period for which the national weather service forecasts, at some point, 105 degrees Fahrenheit or higher or 15 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. Five things have to be said with it:
- There are no dates at all. No season, no start and no end; the protection exists only on days the forecast hits the threshold.
- It is a postponement, not a cancellation, and it covers only disconnection for non-payment. The debt does not disappear.
- Gas is largely carved out of the heat half. The same tariff says the general high-temperature moratorium does not apply to the gas utility unless natural gas is essential for air conditioning. The cold trigger has no such carve-out. Do not skip that condition.
- Water and trash are outside this tariff. The regulator's own newsletter describes the extreme-weather limit for electric, gas and water utilities, but the water there means regulated water utilities, and this district is not one. We could not verify whether any heat-based protection reaches a water customer here and we assert it in neither direction. The water district's service rules, read in full, contain no temperature-based postponement.
- The tariff sheet is old on its face. Even so, the regulator's 2026 consumer page links to it as the current rule. Record both facts; the old date does not mean the rule lapsed.
The protections that do not depend on temperature
- Medical postponement: if a doctor or public health official certifies in writing that disconnection would be especially dangerous to the health of a permanent resident of the household, the utility must postpone for thirty days, extendable by thirty more with a renewed certificate. The letter must name the service address, the ill person, a clear description of the health issue, and the professional's name, title and signature. It does not cancel the debt and a payment plan is usually signed. It applies to electric, gas, water and telecommunications utilities.
- Notice: a ten-day written notice before disconnection, stating the reason, the amount needed to avoid it and the earliest disconnection date; if still unpaid, a second notice at least forty-eight hours beforehand.
- No weekend or holiday shutoffs: the regulator's wording is that utilities may not disconnect the day before a weekend, on the weekend or on a state holiday unless there is a safety issue.
- Restoration after payment: on electricity, the same day if payment arrives by 10:00, otherwise within twenty-four hours. The gas commitment is weaker: as soon as conditions permit.
- Complaints go to the regulator, but it cannot help with a utility it does not regulate, so that door is closed for water and trash.
Sewer: there is no tenant account to open here
Wastewater is handled by the Clark County Water Reclamation District, whose board is also the county commission. Three things matter to a tenant:
- The legal owner of the property is responsible for the bill. Responsibility stays with the owner even with a tenant in place, and changes of ownership or occupancy are to be reported within thirty days.
- The bill is annual and may be paid in full or in quarterly installments.
- Service is not shut off for unpaid sewer charges; the balance plus penalties is added to the property tax roll instead. The enforcement is on the title, not on the tap.
The consequence: if someone tells you to open accounts for water, electricity, gas, trash and sewer, here there is nothing to open for sewer. We print no amount: the figure we hold was not read from the district's live rate schedule.
Trash: mandatory, and the owner is the named party
In unincorporated Clark County solid waste collection is a franchised service administered by the county's franchise services division, with a private company as franchisee. The county ordinance makes subscription mandatory for all premises. For a single-family home the fee is monthly and billed quarterly in advance, and the ordinance's own words are that the property owner is responsible for all charges even if the owner does not live there, with the owner's name on each quarterly bill.
We print no trash rate. The only fee sheet we could verify is years old; read the current one on the county's own franchise page. If you rent, know this: you are most likely paying for trash inside the rent and there may never be an account in your name.
Internet: the authority is neither the county nor a city
We print no provider names, and we say why: we could not verify them from an official source for this item. We can write the structure: in Nevada video service franchises are issued by the state, and the county's role is limited to rights of way. The practical consequence: neither the county nor any city is the complaint authority for internet service. We write nothing about speeds, prices or availability; coverage in this state varies address by address and the only correct route is asking the provider about your own address.

08 · Water rules
Is there really a calendar for watering your garden in Enterprise?
Short answer
Yes, and it is not a temporary drought measure but a permanent regime. Your property is assigned watering days, irrigation is prohibited on Sundays in every season, and between 1 May and 31 August spray irrigation between 11:00 and 19:00 counts as water waste. The fees are graduated and rise on an eighteen-month history: a warning on the first violation, then $80, $160, $320, $640 and $1,280. The most overlooked detail: nothing is exempt from the rule against water running off the property. The first fine a new household pays here is usually this one.
Steps, documents and official links
The calendar changes with the season
| Season | Watering pattern |
|---|---|
| November, December, January and February | One assigned day a week |
| March and April | Three assigned days a week |
| May, June, July and August | Any day except Sunday |
| September and October | Three assigned days a week |
You do not pick the days. The district assigns each property its days and communicates them to the customer. So one of the first things to do after moving is finding out the days assigned to this address. Your neighbor's day may not be yours.
What counts as water waste
- Water flowing or spraying off the property.
- A malfunctioning irrigation device or supply line left unrepaired for more than forty-eight hours after you knew about it.
- Non-compliant washing of vehicles, driveways, sidewalks or streets.
- Discharging pool or spa water off the property where a sanitary sewer is available.
- Spray irrigation between 11:00 and 19:00 from 1 May to 31 August.
- Misting systems, and not complying with your assigned watering group.
The fee ladder: a warning first, then graduated charges
The district's own rule says the customer is notified on a first violation and given a prescribed period to correct it; subsequent violations result in a fee. For a normal residential meter the ladder is:
| Violation | Fee |
|---|---|
| First | Notice and a period to fix it, no fee |
| Second | $80 |
| Third | $160 |
| Fourth | $320 |
| Fifth | $640 |
| Sixth and beyond | $1,280 |
The step is set by your history over the preceding eighteen months, so a violation a year ago can raise today's fee. Amounts are higher on properties with larger meters. Water theft is an entirely separate and far heavier regime; do not go near it.
More than money: citations and loss of service
- The district's own wording says it may exercise authority granted by the appropriate jurisdictions, including the issuance of misdemeanour citations. So this is not merely a line added to a bill.
- Water waste is listed among the grounds for terminating service.
- But there is an appeal, and this is the most important line in the section: water waste and water theft violations and fees may be appealed to an independent hearing officer. The appeal must identify the date of the notice and be filed within the time the rules allow. That sentence is what protects a household still learning the language when a notice arrives; do not throw the notice away, record its date.
Exemptions, and the one thing nothing is exempt from
- Hand watering with a held hose is exempt from the time-of-day and assigned-day rules.
- Drip and low-volume, non-spray irrigation is exempt too. Newly established landscaping gets up to fourteen days of extra time.
- Nothing is exempt from the rule against water leaving the property. Not drip, not a hand-held hose. Water running onto the sidewalk is a violation in every case.
Tenant or owner? Both
Whoever the account is in receives the notice and the fee, so a tenant with the water account in their name pays it. But the district's rules do not stop there:
- If the tenant fails to pay or fails to resolve ongoing water waste, the district may require the owner shown in the county assessor's records to sign for service and pay any past due amounts.
- Outstanding bills, fees and charges are owed by both the customer and the property owner, and they constitute a lien on the property.
So a tenant who ignores a water-waste notice drags the landlord in, and that is the kind of thing that ends a tenancy. When a notice arrives, do two things: fix the fault, and tell your landlord in writing.
The mistake a new household actually makes
Turning the sprinklers on the day they move in, without knowing three things: that the district assigns the days, that Sunday is banned in every season, and that between 1 May and 31 August the hours from 11:00 to 19:00 are themselves water waste. A household that moves in June and waters at noon has committed a violation before unpacking. The first is a warning; the second costs $80.
The decorative grass rule: there is a date in the calendar
The state adopted a rule requiring the removal of non-functional decorative turf, and the requirement is framed by zoning: it applies to properties not zoned exclusively for single-family residences. Single-family home yards are outside it. So why should you care? Because the common areas managed by homeowner associations are not outside it. If you rent or buy in such a community you may see common-area grass removed, assessments levied for the conversion, or landscaping disputes. The deadline falls at the end of 2026 and the water prohibition begins in early 2027, so this item will change soon; ask the association before you sign.

Is there a local ordinance protecting tenants in Enterprise?
Short answer
This question has a structural answer here, and for the first time in this series it is clean: a town cannot have its own tenant ordinance, because there is no town government here that could pass one. The decision-making body is the county commission and the only local law here is the Clark County Code. Whether the county has adopted such an ordinance we could not verify. What is certain on the state side: the fair housing protected-class list contains neither source of income nor immigration status, and we found no section of the landlord and tenant chapter referring to status. That is a gap we observed, not a guarantee.
Steps, documents and official links
Build the structure first, because the structure decides the answer
In other guides in this series a city was able to bar a landlord from asking about immigration status through its own ordinance; in another state the law forbade cities from doing exactly that. Enterprise fits neither picture, because there is no city at all. A local rule could only arrive as an ordinance adopted by the county commission.
We could verify neither of two things and we write neither: whether the county has such an ordinance, and whether the state pre-empts local units in this field. The state legislature's site did not open in this round and the county code could not be read directly. We do not say there is none.
What is certain statewide
The items below rest on the landlord and tenant chapter; because we could not read the statute itself, the sources used are the state supreme court's landlord and tenant handbook and the publications of the two free legal help organizations in the county. These are secondary, not primary, sources; have the lines below confirmed before you sign.
- The security deposit is capped at three months' rent. If the landlord also collects the last month's rent in advance, the deposit may not exceed two months' rent.
- You may demand a signed written receipt for the deposit, and if the landlord refuses you may withhold rent until it is provided. This is the most commonly overlooked right at signing.
- A second deposit cannot be demanded mid-lease.
- Permitted deductions are limited: unpaid rent, reasonable cleaning costs, and damage beyond normal wear and tear.
- Within thirty days of the tenancy ending for any reason, including eviction, the landlord must return the balance or give an itemised written accounting. Wrongful withholding can expose the landlord to up to twice the deposit.
- If the property is sold, the former owner must either return the deposit or transfer it to the new owner.
- There is a prohibition on retaliation, and it is one of the most concrete protections we can give you: you may not be punished for exercising a right.
Protected classes: what is on the list and what is not
The state agency is the Nevada Equal Rights Commission, inside the state's employment, training and rehabilitation department. The housing list on the agency's current page names race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, national origin and familial status.
- For a Turkish reader the real handle is national origin, and it is on that list.
- Source of income and housing vouchers are not on the list. We do not write that as a declaration of absence: a 2021 bill was found that would have added source of income, but no record was found that it became law, and the statute in force could not be read because the legislature's site was closed. We write it in neither direction.
- Immigration status is not on the list either, and no provision was found barring a landlord from asking about it. Again: not found, not "there is none."
- We record a conflict rather than resolving it: the agency's own poster adds ancestry to the list and omits familial status; its website does the opposite. Two documents from the same agency do not match. Take both with you when you file.
- Some county-funded projects appear to carry a source-of-income condition, but that is a funding condition, not a general rule. Do not confuse the two.
How to file
- A housing complaint must be filed within one year of the last alleged violation. The deadline is shorter for employment and public accommodation.
- Filing is free and does not require an attorney. The agency's current page says complaints must be filed online and that mail, fax and in-person filings are no longer accepted. The southern Nevada office is (702) 486-7161.
- There is no tolling: time spent at the agency does not pause a court deadline. Filing with the agency does not buy you time; know that from the start.
Free local legal help, by name
Two organizations produce tenant materials county-wide and both serve an Enterprise resident equally: the Civil Law Self-Help Center and the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. The first operates in partnership with the court in this county. Make them your first door for deposit, eviction and lease questions.
Rental licensing and short-term rentals
- Renting for fewer than thirty-one days requires a separate business license in unincorporated Clark County, and renting without one violates the county code. The county does not distinguish between owner-present and owner-absent stays, requires a valid license number to appear in every advertisement, and limits each person or entity to one unit in residential areas.
- The application window has closed: the county's own page states that a complete application had to be submitted by a stated date and that late applications are not considered. Programmes like this can be reopened or litigated; read the county's page yourself before acting.
- The county states plainly that this ordinance applies only to people and properties in unincorporated Clark County and that someone in a neighboring city must contact that municipality instead. That is a second, independent confirmation of the county and city split and it proves exactly this page's thesis.
- Whether an ordinary long-term single-family rental needs a county business license we could not find out. If you are a landlord, ask the county's business license department.
And this: water waste can end your tenancy
We put it in the renting section too, because it does not come to mind at signing. Where water waste goes unresolved, the water district may require the owner of record to take over the account, and unpaid amounts become a lien on the property. So ignoring an irrigation notice becomes your landlord's financial problem. When a notice arrives, tell your landlord in writing; it protects both the relationship and the record.
10 · Property tax
If you buy a home in Enterprise, how does property tax work?
Short answer
The answer here is a county matter, not a municipal one. The Clark County Assessor values the property and administers the abatement; the Clark County Treasurer bills and collects. In neighboring cities the bill contains a municipal line; here there is no municipal line, though under state law the town counts as its own taxing district. The system itself is not a discount but a cap: on an owner's primary residence the annual increase in the tax bill is limited to 3 percent, while properties that are not owner-occupied get a cap of up to 8 percent.
Steps, documents and official links
How the cap works
The county's own page explains it this way: state law applies a 3 percent cap to the tax bill of the owner's primary residence, covering a single-family house, townhouse, condominium or manufactured home. Only one property may be selected in the State of Nevada as a primary residence. Some rental dwellings meeting low-income rent limits may also qualify for the 3 percent cap. Residences that are not owner-occupied get a cap of up to 8 percent, and the same cap applies to land, commercial buildings, business personal property and similar. New construction or property with a change of use gets no cap that fiscal year and enters the cap from the following one.
Read this correctly: it is not a discount subtracted from the bill, it is a limit on how fast the bill can grow. The rate comparison from other states in this series does not transfer here: the difference is in the annual rate of increase, not in the amount.
The two most critical sentences for a buyer
- The county's own warning: any ownership document recorded will remove your owner-occupied 3 percent abatement. If the assessor's document number updates, you must complete and return a new postcard to keep the cap for the following year.
- The assessor mails those postcards after 1 July to properties whose document number or ownership changed during that fiscal year. Watch your mailbox for that card in the months after closing. Putting the home into a trust is specifically named among the reasons the cap has to be reclaimed.
- A refinance that does not include an ownership document does not affect the abatement.
- The assessor's own material gives an annual cut-off for correcting the tax cap, and notes that corrections may not appear on the bill immediately and that an amended bill comes from the treasurer's office once updated. The office number is (702) 455-3882.
The 3 percent cap is reachable on rentals too
The assessor sends a rental affidavit letter in the spring to owners of multi-unit residential rentals; if the rent on all units is at or below the eligible figure, the owner signs and returns the affidavit for the 3 percent cap. Those rent ceilings change every tax year, so we print no figures and ask you to read the county's own page. These ceilings are not a legal rent limit and must never be presented as rent control.
The number question
We could not find out whether the assessor accepts a taxpayer identification number for this abatement, or whether it asks for a number at all. The abatement is claimed by signing and returning the card the assessor mails, which suggests the identity link runs through the recorded deed rather than a taxpayer number; but that is an inference, not a finding. We assert it in neither direction; ask the office directly before you buy.
What you do not pay here, and what you do
Nevada has no personal income tax, no state return and no state withholding certificate. But "there is no tax" would be wrong: its place is taken by sales tax and property tax, with separate items falling on employers. The sales tax rate depends on the county and in Clark County it is 8.375 percent; even the components inside that rate show what the locality funds, with two separate police lines and a water authority line on the Clark County side. Do not carry this rate to the north of the state, where both the rate and its components differ. We open this up in the taxes section and in the property tax section of our state guide.
11 · School
Which school do you enrol your child in from Enterprise?
Short answer
The school district here is county-wide as well: it is the Clark County School District, and being unincorporated does not change that. What changes is which school, and that is set by your address. There is a trap in that: the city name on your envelope is Las Vegas, and the answer to the school question comes not from the envelope but from the district's own zoning search. The good news is on documents: the district writes on its own page that it does not collect or verify immigration status and cites a state law section, and the required document list contains no Social Security number.
Steps, documents and official links
Find the school by address, not by envelope
Because the district covers the whole county, an Enterprise parent's question is answered by address, never by town name. Since your postal address says Las Vegas, reasoning from the envelope gives the wrong answer here. The only reliable route is entering your address into the district's own zoning search. Do it while house-hunting too: two streets apart in the same neighborhood can fall to different schools.
The four document categories
- Proof of address, one document. The district lists: a recent utility bill, a current mortgage statement, a rental receipt, a residential lease agreement or a sales contract. Telephone bills and cable bills are expressly not accepted, and a driver's license does not count as proof of address for this purpose. That detail matters here, because the sewer and trash bills are issued in the property owner's name; in a rented household the bills that can produce proof of address are usually water and electricity.
- Parent or guardian identification: the district's list says a driver's license, picture identification or a passport. The passport being named is what keeps this door open for a Turkish parent. Guardians should be ready to show proof of guardianship.
- Proof of the child's identity: an original birth certificate, a passport, or a certified birth card issued by a health district. Photocopies are not accepted. If you do not hold a birth certificate, see the birth certificate section.
- Immunisation records, required by state law with a valid certificate. The district cites a statutory section and says exemptions exist for religious belief or a medical condition. For help getting immunisations it names the Southern Nevada Health District and the number 702-759-0850; district immunisation events and school-based health centers are listed too.
Three options that rescue a family short of papers, by name
- The Shared Housing option. Families with no lease, mortgage or utility bill in a parent's or guardian's own name can select this option during online registration. This may be the most important line for a newcomer, because in the first month nothing may yet be in your name.
- A future-dated lease or sales contract. The school registers the child on condition that one more proof of address is submitted within thirty days.
- The Title I HOPE program. It may help obtain an original birth certificate where a copy is not available, and families eligible for these services get extra time for immunisations and proof of address.
Ask for all three by name. These are options the district publishes; doors that open with one sentence at the registration desk.
The immigration status question
The district writes on its own page that it does not collect or verify students' immigration status and that it is not responsible for enforcing federal immigration law, citing a state law section. We could not read that section's own text, because the state legislature's site did not open by any route in this round; so we cite the number only as the district itself cites it and we quote no statutory text.
And there is something absent from the list: the district's published required-document list contains no Social Security number. We write that as no number appears in the published list, not as "no number is required." The identity documents the district names, a passport and a birth certificate, are documents obtainable without a number anyway.
Language: the right sentence is not "Turkish is available"
There are three different numbers here and we do not average them, because they count three different things:
- The online registration system itself runs in two languages: English and Spanish. That is the operative answer at the registration desk.
- The statements the district uses to identify a family's home language exist in forty-nine languages.
- The district's flagship document on language learners is published in eight languages.
Turkish was not found in any list we read. We write that plainly, and we put this in its place: we do not say Turkish services exist; we say there is a right you can request and this is its door. State law recognizes a parent's right to a qualified interpreter in their own native language, regardless of which language that is, and the district's multilingual learner and family services department says it provides translation and interpretation for district-related meetings and for special education meetings. Make the request in writing, say which meeting it is for, and keep the answer with its date. You do not have to walk into a meeting without an interpreter.
Age and grade placement
- Kindergarten requires the child to be five by 1 August, first grade six by 1 August with kindergarten completed. The district's own rule says kindergarten completion cannot be met by an online or homeschool program; a transfer student needs a report card from the last school attended.
- A student transferring from another state may be enrolled in the grade they were attending or would have been attending, provided they meet that state's age requirements and can furnish a report card, transcript or formal grade promotion letter.
- But note: that rule is written about other U.S. states. We found no published district rule on grade placement for a child arriving from another country. For a family coming from Türkiye the most practical preparation is bringing the child's report cards and school records with notarised translations and asking this question directly at the registration desk.

Where do you apply in Enterprise if you have no insurance?
Short answer
Do not copy this section from another of our state guides, because Nevada took an option. Federal law limited full federally matched coverage to four status groups from 1 October 2026; but Nevada elected, years ago, the option left open for lawfully residing children and pregnant people, and the federal agency's own implementation document says a state that elected it must treat those people as fully covered. The application is state business, not county; a household here follows the same route as every other Clark County settlement.
Steps, documents and official links
Names first, because they changed in 2025 and the old one is still everywhere
- The health coverage program is now run by the Nevada Health Authority; the agency states on its own page that it was created by a law passed in the 2025 session. The old name is still all over documents and letters; an older letter carrying the old agency name does not make it invalid.
- The program is called Nevada Medicaid, and the children's health program is Nevada Check Up.
- The agency that decides eligibility is not the one that runs the program: applications and eligibility run through the welfare and supportive services division via the Access Nevada portal. Two official documents give different addresses for the portal; we record the conflict and take no side, and we suggest entering through the agency's own page.
- The insurance marketplace is not federal but the state's own: Nevada Health Link, operated by the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange. This is the opposite of some of our other state guides; enrollment does not happen on the federal marketplace site.
The 1 October 2026 change, and what makes Nevada different
From that date federal law ties full federally matched coverage to four groups: U.S. citizens and nationals, lawful permanent residents, Cuban and Haitian entrants, and migrants under the compacts of free association. Refugees, asylees, holders of temporary protected status, parolees and visa holders are not on that list.
But there is a second sentence for Nevada, and that is this page's difference: the federal health agency's implementation document says a state that elected the option left open for lawfully residing children and pregnant people must treat them as fully covered. Nevada elected it for both groups and the records exist.
- There are two separate age limits and they are not merged: 21 on the health coverage side and 19 in the children's health program. Two programs, two ages.
- Lawfully residing is not the same as any immigration status. This door does not reach a person with no status.
- We could not find Nevada's own announcement. The kind of bulletin other states published was not found in this research and the agency's pages were unreachable; that is an access gap, not evidence. Ask the agency about your own situation before applying.
Emergency coverage survives the change
The federal document states expressly that emergency coverage continues after the 1 October 2026 change. Carry two cautions with it:
- There is no emergency-services equivalent inside the children's health program. So for a child not reached by the lawfully residing route, that side is a gap.
- The same law also caps what the state receives federally for emergency coverage. That does not change who is eligible, it changes what the state pays.
- If Nevada has its own name for its emergency benefit package we could not find it; do not carry package names from another of our state guides onto this page.
Applying, and the documents asked for
The portal's published document list is a generic one: proof of citizenship, a Social Security card and proof of income. Do not read that list on its own, because emergency coverage and the lawfully residing route do not turn on the applicant's own citizenship. The portal has a pre-screening question set that indicates whether you may fall under health coverage, the children's program or the marketplace.
We could not find two things and we write neither: a Nevada text saying the number requirement is lifted for emergency coverage, and a Nevada sentence on whether the agency reports applicants to immigration authorities. Those sentences existed in other state guides of ours; here they were not found and must not be assumed.
What the children's health program costs
The program's published description says the only cost to an enrollee is a quarterly premium, that enrolled children pay no co-payments, deductibles or other charges for covered services, and that premiums are set by family size and income. We publish no income limit: two official sources show two different thresholds and we could not establish which is current. Check your own household's eligibility through the portal.
A second date: 1 January 2027
From that date federal rules tie marketplace subsidies to a narrower group: lawful permanent residents, Cuban and Haitian entrants, and compacts of free association migrants. Other statuses may still buy a plan but without savings. We found no page on the marketplace's own site restating how it applies this; we write it as the federal rule and tell you to ask the marketplace how it is applied here. Open enrollment runs 1 November to 15 January.
The statewide detail is in the health section of our state guide.

Where do you go in Enterprise when you are uninsured?
Short answer
First the sentence this guide repeats most often: a sliding-fee center is never a free clinic. The discount is calculated on household income and family size, but there is still a charge. In an emergency a separate federal duty applies: a hospital emergency department must screen and stabilise regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. And there is one more structural thing to know here: a hard identity requirement stands at the county's assistance door, and it hits a household without a number or a state identification directly.
Steps, documents and official links
Community health centers: how they work
The membership body for community health centers in this state is the Nevada Primary Care Association. Its own page says these centers provide services regardless of a patient's ability to pay and charge on a sliding fee scale, and that anybody can receive care at a community health center.
- But the page does not mention immigration status anywhere, and we are not adding that sentence. We could not verify the centers' own policies on this.
- We publish no address. We do not publish addresses from the federal health center database, and we could not verify each listed organization's service area individually. The right route is this: find the center serving Clark County from the membership body's own list, go to that center's own site, and read the address and hours there.
- We print no count of centers either: two official sources give two different numbers, counting different things in different years.
- Three questions for the first call: how do you apply for the sliding fee scale, which income documents are needed, and what will the first appointment cost. Write the answers down; the sliding fee is something you request, not something that arrives automatically.
The emergency room: the federal duty and the payment route are two different things
A hospital emergency department's duty to screen and stabilise comes from federal law and does not look at immigration status. But that does not make the service free; do not confuse the two. How the bill gets paid is a separate matter, and for a person whose status does not reach full coverage emergency coverage sits on that route. The region's public hospital is University Medical Center; the county's own publications name it as the hospital whose discharge planners work with county social service staff.
There is an identity barrier at the county assistance door
Clark County Social Service exists, but what it does has to be stated accurately: the county's own documents describe financial assistance for rent, burial and out-of-state transportation and certain in-home programs. Research found no general county indigent medical care program.
And this requirement stands at that door: the county's verification list asks for two forms of identification for each household member, and for adults one of them must be a valid, unexpired, state-issued photo identification showing a Clark County address. For a newcomer this is the most likely point of refusal, and it connects straight to the card in the license section: if what you hold is a driver authorization card, it states on its face that it is not valid as identification, and the law excludes it from identifying people for services of the state and its political subdivisions. We could not confirm from the county's own text whether that door opens, and we are not guessing. Applicants are also expected to have applied first to health coverage, unemployment insurance and other programs.
Where to go about a disputed bill
The county's own assistance directory points insured and uninsured residents to a consumer health assistance office for hospital bills, provider bills, prescription needs, medical benefits and appeals. We could not verify that office's current full name or which agency houses it after the 2025 restructuring, so we do not print the name; look for its current equivalent in the county's own directory. The referral itself is real and useful.
A practical order for a newcomer
- If nothing is urgent, apply for coverage first and ask separately about any child and any pregnancy in the household; Nevada opened a separate route for those two groups.
- Pick a community health center and apply for the sliding fee in advance. Gathering paperwork on the day you fall ill is the worst possible timing.
- Save the emergency department you would use in every phone in the house. The nearest hospital here may not be in the settlement at all but elsewhere in the valley.
- Ask about prescription costs separately. A sliding fee may cover the visit and not the medicine.
- When a bill arrives, ask for the itemisation before paying and ask about the discount program; hospitals run their own financial assistance programs.
14 · Marriage
Where do you get a marriage license from Enterprise?
Short answer
There is no marriage counter here, and there could not be: this is county business, and there is no city hall here to go to. The license comes from the Marriage License Bureau of the Clark County Clerk, at 201 E. Clark Avenue, Las Vegas, and the bureau is open seven days a week from eight in the morning until midnight, all holidays included. The fee is $102 and checks are not accepted. For a Turkish reader the real information is on identification: this county names foreign documents in writing.
Steps, documents and official links
Which counter, and which one is not
The clerk has several offices in this county and they do not all do the same thing. Two things kept separate:
- The office that issues the license is the bureau above. The same bureau also files fictitious firm names, handles notary bonds and oaths, and works as a passport acceptance point by appointment.
- The county's government center does not issue licenses, and the clerk says so in capitals on its own page: you cannot obtain a marriage license at this location. That office only files and sells marriage certificates, files fictitious firm names and handles notary work. Going to the wrong building is the most common mistake in this county.
- The ceremony is somewhere else again: the Office of Civil Marriages, 330 S. 3rd Street, Las Vegas, by appointment only and accepting credit or debit cards only, no cash and no checks. That is where the ceremony happens, not where the license is issued.
- The clerk's general customer service number is (702) 671-0600. The clerk also notes that fees are set by the state legislature and the county commission and may change without prior notice; confirm before you go.
Waiting period, blood test, appearing in person
- No waiting period and no blood test.
- Both of you must be there in person at the same time. The clerk says so in its own words.
- There is an online pre-application and it saves time, with the application staying in the system for a year; but the license is not issued online. Fill in the form, then both of you go in person with original photo identification.
- A license is not a marriage. The ceremony must be performed by someone authorized in Nevada and the law requires one witness. A ceremony performed outside Nevada on a Nevada license is not valid.
Identification: this county's written list is open to a Turkish reader
Among acceptable proof of name and age the clerk lists, by name: a passport, a consular identification card, and an official foreign government issued ID card, including a driver license, provided it shows the date of birth. Two limits sit on the same page:
- Documents must be originals; digital copies and photocopies are not accepted, and the document must carry a photo.
- A foreign birth certificate must be translated into English and the translation notarised.
And a warning: the published list in the county to the north of the state is not the same and does not name foreign government identification. Do not mix the two counties; the answer here is for this county.
The Social Security number question, written in neither direction
The clerk's own sentence is: if you are a United States citizen and have been issued a Social Security Number, you must provide it. The obligation is conditioned on two things at once: citizenship and the number having been issued. We found no county page saying what happens for a non-citizen or a person with no number.
We will be very careful here: no Nevada source says a license is refused for lack of a Social Security number, and none says it is granted. We write neither and we suggest one thing: before you travel, call the clerk, explain your own situation, and note the answer with the name of the person you spoke to and the date.
Fee, payment and the name
- The license fee is $102. Paying by credit or debit card carries an additional fee, and checks are not accepted.
- The license and certificate are issued in the name exactly as it appears on your identification. The practical consequence for a Turkish reader: if your passport shows your middle name in full that is what goes on the document; if it shows an initial, the document shows the initial. Fixing it afterwards is a separate job; check the spelling on your identification.
- The clerk is not the office that holds the certificate: after the ceremony the marriage certificate goes to the county recorder, and the certified copy you need to change your name with the social security administration and the motor vehicle agency comes from there. What the clerk gives you is the license; what the recorder gives you is the certificate. They are different.
15 · Vital records
Where do you get a birth certificate for a child born in Enterprise?
Short answer
There is no vital records counter here. A child born in Enterprise is a Clark County birth, and the certificate comes from the vital records office of the county health district, the Southern Nevada Health District. There is one limit to know and it is particular to this county: the district holds county births only from 1973 onwards, and deaths from 1988. A Clark County birth before 1973 cannot be obtained here at all and goes to the state's own office. For a reader without a number this is one of the strongest doors in the series: the state office's published identification list names foreign documents and a Social Security number appears nowhere in those lists.
Steps, documents and official links
Which door, and on what basis
| Situation | Where to go |
|---|---|
| A Clark County birth in 1973 or later | The vital records office of the county health district |
| A Clark County death in 1988 or later | The same office |
| A Clark County birth before 1973 | The state vital records office, or the authorized online vendor |
| A birth in another Nevada county | The state office or that county's own district |
| Marriage and divorce records | Not with vital records, they are held at county level. See the marriage section |
The county office is at 280 S. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, the telephone is (702) 759-1010, and it works Monday to Thursday. So you cannot simply go on a Friday; that is the same four-day pattern as the county's complaint office.
Who may order
Nevada does not issue these to anyone: the applicant must have a direct and tangible interest in the record. Both the state office and the county district cite the same test, referring to a statutory and a regulatory section; we could not read the text of either and we cite the numbers only as the agencies cite them. The test is a relationship by blood or marriage within the second degree to the person named on the certificate, a legal relationship, or a requirement imposed by law or a legal process.
And the single most useful sentence here for a new family: a parent ordering a child's birth certificate must only prove their own identity; no additional relationship document is asked for. Other relatives, grandparents, siblings, grandchildren and step-parents, must be named on the certificate or supply their own birth certificate. A spouse or former spouse must supply proof of the marriage or the divorce. Identification is required for every request.
The identification list names foreign documents
In the primary section of the identification list published by the state vital records office, that is the documents accepted on their own provided they carry a photo and are valid, the following appear by name:
- Foreign passport (the list's own note says it may be verified with the embassy or consulate)
- Consular identification card
- Employment authorization card
- Permanent resident card and temporary resident card
- A U.S. visitor visa accompanied by a valid arrival record
- Also a tribal identification card, U.S. school and university identification cards, and an identification card issued by a homeless support service
For people with no primary document there is a secondary list, from which two documents are required. And a Social Security number appears nowhere in either list. We write that as no number appears in these two published lists, not as "no number is required."
But carry a warning with it: these are the state office's lists. We could not read the county health district's own accepted identification list in this research and we are not copying the state's list onto it. Ask the county counter for its own list before you go.
Fees, payment and timing traps
- At the county district a birth or death certificate costs $38 for the first copy and $25 for each additional copy. The first-copy fee includes $13 for registering the certificate with the state registrar, and if you can document that this was paid before, the district waives that line on future purchases. If no record is found there is a $10 non-refundable search fee.
- Personal checks are not accepted. Debit, credit card, money order, cashier's check and business check are; for mail and drop-off orders a money order or business check is required.
- Processing takes two to four weeks, and the district's own sentence says there is no same-day and no overnight service. Certificates are held sixty days from the date of payment.
- If you are in a hurry, expedited delivery is available through the authorized online vendor at extra cost; it does not exist on the district's own channel.
The scam warning, in the agency's own words
The county district publishes its own warning: it says it has received an increasing number of calls about third-party vendors selling birth and death certificates, and that these companies charge high fees to process or help apply for certificates issued by a health department. Complaints go to the state attorney general's consumer protection bureau; the numbers given are (702) 486-3132 and the toll-free line 888-434-9989.
The one authorized online vendor is the single company all three offices name; the agencies themselves state that other internet vendors are not authorized. Do not enter card details on the first site in a search result.
A child born in Türkiye
A certificate for a child born in Türkiye does not come from Nevada; that record is in Türkiye and the apostille process runs as described in the apostille section. The office here only issues Nevada records. And remember that for school enrollment a passport is accepted for the child's identity too; the birth certificate is not the only route.
16 · Social Security
How do I get a Social Security Number (SSN) in Enterprise?
Short answer
An SSN is issued only to people with work authorization or another legally valid reason, and the agency that issues it is federal: the Social Security Administration. If you arrived on an immigrant visa and asked for the number in the visa application, the card arrives by post. People who adjust status inside the United States with an I-485 and tick the SSN box on an EAD application also get the card automatically. In other cases you start the application online and attend an office by appointment; there is no fee. Two things up front: Nevada has no office that issues an SSN or produces any substitute number, and we publish no Social Security Administration street address on this page, because none could be confirmed from an official source this round. Here the real issue is not how the number is obtained. This town is unincorporated, so none of the counters you will visit, with a number or without one, is inside it. Every door opens onto the county or the state, and most of them carry a Las Vegas postal address.
Steps, documents and official links
- What to bring: your current immigration document (green card, I-94 or EAD) and a valid passport, plus a birth certificate if you have one. Photocopies and notarised copies are not accepted.
- F-1 and J-1: an SSN is issued only once a right to work arises (on-campus work, CPT, OPT). It is not issued simply for school enrollment.
- Which office covers you: enter your ZIP code in the agency's own office locator. Do not type your town's name into the search box; as this series has shown repeatedly, federal locators recognize settlements by postal name. Nevada is in a single time zone, so you do not need to convert appointment times; the detail is in the time difference section.
- General line: 1-800-772-1213. A replacement card is free and in most cases can be started online.
- If your surname changed after marriage, update your record at an office free of charge.
A map of this town for someone without a number
Look at the right-hand column below. Not one row names the town itself, because there is no municipality here: no city hall, no municipal code enforcement, no municipal court and no municipal counter. In every item the counterpart is either Clark County or the state. The detail of what applies statewide is in our Nevada guide; here we keep only what changes in this settlement.
| The door | Is a number asked for | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Driver authorization card | No | The state driver handbook says in its own words that a Social Security Number is not needed for this card. The card comes from a state agency; there is no branch in this town, so residents use other offices in the valley. The detail is in the driving license section |
| Birth and death certificates | No | A Social Security Number appears nowhere in the state vital records office's identity lists, and a foreign passport counts as primary identification. On the county side the counterpart is the Southern Nevada Health District; a child born here is a Clark County birth. See the birth certificate section |
| Marriage license | The duty is tied to citizenship | The County Clerk's own sentence imposes the duty to give the number only on a U.S. citizen who has been issued one; it says nothing about anyone else. There is no marriage counter in this town; the license comes from the Marriage License Bureau of the Clark County Clerk. See the marriage section |
| School enrollment | Not on the district's published list | The school district is county-wide: the Clark County School District, and it separately states that it does not collect or verify immigration status. See the school enrollment section |
| Work card | Not a number, a different document | The card is issued by the county police department and it asks for an extra identity document from anyone born outside the United States. We set it out in full in the tax and work section below |
| County assistance | Not a number, a card type problem | Clark County Social Service asks for a valid, unexpired Nevada government-issued photo ID showing a Clark County address. If you live here your address already is a Clark County address; the obstacle is not the address but the type of card. See the benefits section below |
| Library card | No statement found that one is required | The system is county-wide and one of its branches carries this town's own name; the system's own site never opened this round. A separate card type for people who cannot prove an address is reported; we have written it with a hedge in the free things section |
| Trade name filing and company formation | Unverified for the trade name, unreadable for the company | A trade name is filed with the Clark County Clerk; a company is formed with the state. There is no such thing as a city license here; see the business section below |
The row most often misread is the driver authorization card. The card asks for no number, but it carries the notation Not Valid for ID in its top portion, so by the agency's own words it is not an identity document. You can have a license and still have no identification. That distinction meets you in two places here: at the county assistance counter and at the passport acceptance counter. Both are covered below and in the passport section.
And one warning this page repeats from beginning to end: when you ring an agency or fill in an address field, the city name on your envelope is not your government. A household here almost certainly has Las Vegas, NV on its post, yet the City of Las Vegas does not serve that address. Which service comes from which door is separated item by item in the local services section.
ITIN: for tax, not for identification
Someone who cannot get an SSN but must file a federal return uses an ITIN. The application is made on Form W-7 and, unless an exception applies, attached to a federal return. In the agency's own words an ITIN does not provide or change immigration status and does not authorize work; it is not an identity document either.
- Three ways to have documents verified: post them with your passport to the address the agency gives, attend a certifying acceptance agent, or attend by appointment a tax agency office that reviews ITIN documents. The last two mean you do not put your passport in the post.
- Which office in this town or valley performs that review could not be verified, and we publish no federal tax office address on this page. Confirm the office and the appointment through the federal tax agency's office locator; the appointment line is 844-545-5640.
- One convenience: because Nevada has no state income tax, you file no state return, so the problem of completing a state return with an ITIN never arises here. The federal obligation is unchanged.
17 · Tax and working
What comes out of a pay check in Enterprise, and what do you need before starting work?
Short answer
Nevada levies no personal income tax: no state income tax comes out of your pay, you file no state return, and the form you complete when you start a job has no state equivalent. But this page will not tell you there is no tax, because that is not true: the tax exists, it has moved. In Clark County the rate you pay at the till is 8.375 percent, and a large part of local services comes back out of property tax. There is also no municipal tax line here at all, because there is no municipality; the local lines on your property tax bill are the county's and the regional districts'. The second thing, and the one that bites hardest when you start work: some jobs require a separate card issued by the county police department, and you cannot get it before you have the job, because the application form is given to you and signed by your employer.
Steps, documents and official links
Sales tax: what is inside the rate shows this county's priorities
- Sales and use tax in Clark County is 8.375 percent. The figure comes from the state tax agency's own components document. Do not carry this rate to another county; other Nevada counties differ and the large county in the north is lower. The rate is county-wide, so moving from a municipality into an unincorporated area within the valley does not change what you pay at the till.
- The real information is inside the rate. The Clark rate contains two separate police components and a water authority component; in the northern county the largest local component inside the rate is a school facilities share approved at the ballot box. So in the same state what the locality spends on can be read out of the rate you pay at the till. For a household here that is directly meaningful: you have no municipality, but policing and water are paid for inside the rate at the till, and both of those agencies serve this town.
- This is a retail tax, so it is unrelated to income. For a low-income household the burden can be proportionally heavier than in a state with an income tax. Do not base a decision to move on the sentence there is no income tax alone.
What takes the place of income tax
- Property tax. Levied on your home or on the property behind your rent, and there is no municipal line inside the bill here. Caps on increases and abatements are in the property tax section.
- The Modified Business Tax on employers, 1.17 percent statewide. It is not deducted from your payslip; your employer pays it. It can still come up in a pay negotiation.
- The Commerce Tax, for businesses above a certain turnover. If you are setting up a small business, ask about the threshold from the outset.
- Federal tax is unchanged. Without an SSN you file with an ITIN; see the section above.
The work card: the invisible precondition for starting a job here
An item that has not appeared in any round of this series, and a direct consequence of this valley's economy. Some jobs require a separate card issued by the police before you can work in them. It is not a professional body license and it is not federal work authorization.
- The issuing agency is the police, and here that means the county's department. In the unincorporated areas of Clark County, which includes this town, policing is provided by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and the card comes from it too. The department's own question-and-answer page states that the sheriff card people talk about and the work card are the same thing. There has never been a municipal police force here, so there is no city counter to look for on this item.
- And the detail that matters most: you cannot get the card before you have the job. The department's own answer is explicit: you must first be hired, your prospective employer gives you the application form and the employer signs it. The order is: job offer first, card second. Anyone who queues for a card without an offer in hand has wasted the trip.
- An extra identity document is required from anyone born abroad. The department's own list says it plainly: if you were not born in the United States or a U.S. territory, bring one additional form of identification, and the three options named are a United States Passport, a Naturalization Certificate and Authorization to Work documents. We do not alter the agency's wording; the requirement is not written as lawful status but as those three options. A foreign passport does not appear on the list, only a U.S. passport.
- And a risk: the photo identification the department lists includes the state agency's driving license, but whether a driver authorization card is accepted at this counter could not be verified. Given that the card itself says it is not valid for identification, that is a real risk. We do not write that it suffices; ask the agency before you collect the application form.
- Which jobs need a card: the department's own answer says that which positions require one is set by city and county ordinances and by state law, and the agency publishes no list of occupations. So we publish none either: when you receive the job offer, ask the employer does this position require a card.
- Term and scope: the card lasts 5 years, there is no renewal, you apply again. It is valid only for the type of work printed on it; if the employer changes, a change-of-location form is filed within 5 days, and if the type of work changes a fresh employer-signed application is needed. Fingerprints are taken at the agency without exception, electronically; ink prints are not accepted.
- Bars: a card is not issued to anyone with a felony conviction, and a false statement on the application is also a ground for refusal. With other convictions there is a right to apply, the decision follows the rule governing the position, and there may be a right of appeal against a refusal.
- Fee: 67 USD from 1 October 2026, plus 40 USD for a federal background check where one is needed, so up to 107 USD. The agency's own note says not every application requires the federal check. Fees are not refunded.
- At major events applications are not accepted from individuals, only through a registered employer. If you will be working at one of the large events held in the valley a few times a year, know this in advance.
The postal trap appears here in a single line
The department that issues the card divides its area into commands, and there is one named after this town: the Enterprise Area Command. Its published address is 6975 West Windmill Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89113.
The whole point of this round sits in that one line: even the police station named after your town has Las Vegas in its postal address. A reader should draw three conclusions. First, an address saying Las Vegas does not mean the place is inside the City of Las Vegas. Second, searching by your own town's name returns nothing in most agency systems; search by postal name or by ZIP code. Third, the station being called Enterprise does not mean work cards are issued there: the command is a patrol facility, while card processing and fingerprinting run through the department's records and fingerprint bureau. Confirm which building you need from the agency's own page or by telephone before you go.
Three cards the department no longer issues
This paragraph saves a whole day. Old information still circulating online sends people to the wrong counter, and the department lists on its own page the cards it no longer handles.
| Card | Which agency issues it now | What is left at the police |
|---|---|---|
| Casino employee card | Nevada Gaming Control Board. The police have not handled it since 1 July 2004 | Electronic fingerprint submission only, 75.25 USD |
| Security guard and private investigator card | Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board, (702) 486-3003 | Electronic fingerprint submission only, 58.00 USD |
| Child care work card | The child care licensing unit of the state health agency, (702) 486-3822 | None |
The distinction matters here in particular, because a large share of the jobs that need a card are in the valley's tourism and entertainment sector and the casino card is the first one readers hear about. The casino card is no longer at the police. You go to the police only for fingerprints, and that carries its own fee.
Working in a neighboring state: a gap we are not filling
Because Nevada has no income tax there is no state tax for a reciprocity agreement to cover. But whether someone who lives here and works in a neighboring state must file a return there could not be verified this round and we are not inventing an answer. Ask a tax adviser before you take the job; if withholding is set up wrongly, the difference arrives in one lump in April.
18 · Starting a business
How do you set up a company (LLC) in Enterprise, and what should you watch for?
Short answer
Formation goes to the Nevada Secretary of State, through the state's own business portal SilverFlume. We publish no filing fee in this section, for a concrete reason: every one of that office's sites sat behind a bot wall this round and we could not read a single figure from the agency itself. We do not publish figures from third-party guides. What we can state with confidence is the set of counters a business faces here, and one row of that table is simpler here than in the cities: on the operating license there is no municipal side at all. At some addresses in this valley a reader has to work out whether the city or the county licenses them; here that question never arises, because the answer is always the county.
Steps, documents and official links
Three separate filings, and here the third has only one answer
- The entity goes to the state. Forming an LLC or a corporation, the state business license and the annual lists all go to the state authority through the portal. This item is the same in all five settlements.
- The trade name goes to the county. If you use a business name that does not show the owner's real name, you file a fictitious firm name certificate with the Clark County Clerk. The statute the Clerk's own document cites requires that filing in every county where the business is conducted; a business also operating in the north opens a separate file there. For a reader here there is no city alternative; this is a county filing from the start.
- The operating license, and this town's cleanest answer. This is the unincorporated area of the county, so your counterpart is the Clark County Department of Business License, line (702) 455-0174. The county's own rule requires anyone doing business in unincorporated Clark County to hold a license. There is no municipal licensing step here, because there is no municipality, and that is not a gap but a simplification: at some addresses in the valley a reader must read two authorities' rules together, while here there is one.
But a warning: the simplification does not mean you can ignore the address. One street over within the valley can put you inside a municipal boundary, and there the regime changes. When you rent a new shop or office, find out first which government that address belongs to through the county's own jurisdiction lookup; how to do that is in the local services section.
Lines to read in the trade name filing
- The filing does not give you the name. The Clerk's own warning is plain: filing this certificate does not give exclusive rights to the use of that name. Most readers assume the opposite.
- Fee and term: a new filing or renewal is 25 USD, termination 20 USD, and a mailing-address update is free. Payment is by cash (in person), check or money order made out to the Clerk. Validity is 5 years, with a reminder sent to the address on file roughly 60 days before expiry.
- No online filing. The Clerk keeps an original signed form; the certificate is delivered by post or in person and a self-addressed stamped envelope is requested for the return. For a reader here that means a journey: there is no counter inside the town where you can collect it.
- The signature rule raises the identity question. An older Clerk page requires the form to be either notarised or signed in front of a deputy clerk, and the second route calls for government-issued photo identification. Whether a foreign passport satisfies that requirement could not be verified. Ring before you complete the form, (702) 455-4431.
- The wrong form type means the filing comes back. There are separate forms for a sole proprietorship, a general partnership, a registered entity, a trust and a series LLC. The owner name on the trade name certificate must also match the name on the state business license exactly.
What we are not writing, and why
- No LLC fee at all. We publish no figure for the articles of organization, the initial list of managers, the state business license, the annual list or a name reservation. The third-party guides even contradict one another. Read the amounts from the state authority's own page before you pay.
- We do not state the registered agent requirement firmly. It is reported that a registered agent in Nevada must have a street address in the state, and that is an ordinary rule in this series; but this round it came only from third-party sources.
- No official answer was found on whether an SSN or ITIN is needed to form an LLC. That is exactly this page's reader's question, and we are not filling it with a guess. Ask the portal's support line and ask for the answer in writing.
- The county license fees and the extra requirements by trade. We read the county's general license guide, but could not open its separate schedules for each activity.
Working from home: the question changes here
This town has new, largely residential neighborhoods, and some readers plan to run a business from home first. Whether a home-based activity needs a separate permit, and on what conditions, could not be read from the county's own page this round, so we say neither that it does nor that it does not. But we can state the counterpart with confidence: the question goes to the county's licensing department, not to a city, and the zoning rule for the same address is also set by the county. Ask both on the same call: will a license be issued for this activity at this address, and is there a zoning restriction.
Two free things to do before you spend money
- Check the standing of the name in the register. Check the status of any business you are going into partnership with or paying a deposit to, through the portal or by telephone.
- Find out which authority your address belongs to first. For a restaurant, a salon, child care and similar activities the state formation alone is not enough. Here the answer is the county, but one street over it may be a different authority, and a missing license pushes an opening back by weeks.
19 · Public benefits
Will taking public benefits in Enterprise affect my green card application?
Short answer
It can. The federal public charge rule that took effect on 18 September 2026 rescinded the 2022 regulations and, in the agency's own summary, gave officers broader discretion to weigh all relevant facts; so the assessment did not narrow, it widened. The same rule also contains one concrete sentence for an anxious reader: benefits received before 18 September 2026 are assessed under the older, narrower rule. On the Nevada side the most important point in this section is this: the option the 1 October 2026 federal narrowing left to the states is one Nevada took years ago, for both children and pregnant people. For a household here the addition is a question of which door: the only counterpart for an assistance application is the county, and the county's assistance unit asks for a Nevada photo ID showing a Clark County address.
Steps, documents and official links
What changed in the public charge rule
- Date and scope: the rule was published on 20 July 2026 and took effect on 18 September 2026. It applies to applications for admission made on or after that date, and to adjustment applications postmarked or submitted electronically on or after it.
- Not retroactive: the rule's own sentence says means-tested public benefits received before 18 September 2026 will be considered under the 2022 rule.
- Direction: the rule does not list which benefits count; it removes the old list and returns to a totality-of-the-circumstances assessment. For that reason it is not possible to publish a clean list of benefits that count.
- The statutory exemptions survive: refugees and asylees adjusting status, the special immigrant juvenile category, people applying for or re-registering for temporary protected status, and the special statutes covering Cuban and Haitian nationals.
- Does Emergency Medicaid count: the rule's preamble records comments asking exactly that, but we could not find the agency's binding answer. We say neither that it counts nor that it does not.
1 October 2026 and the option Nevada held
Federal law now pays for full Medicaid only for four groups: U.S. citizens and nationals, green card holders, Cuban and Haitian entrants, and people living here under a compact of free association. The list is closed: refugees, asylees, people with temporary protected status and parolees are not on it. The law does not cut a person's coverage; it cuts the federal payment to the state.
- The federal implementation deck names three exceptions: Emergency Medicaid, coverage under the CHIPRA 214 option, and health service initiatives. The critical sentence is this: a state that has elected the option must determine lawfully residing children and pregnant people eligible for full coverage, and must maintain coverage for those already covered.
- And Nevada elected it. There are two state plan amendments approved in 2018 for children and a further amendment effective in 2023 for pregnant people; the latter's own summary says it covers all lawfully present pregnant individuals, including those who would otherwise face the five-year waiting period.
- Do not merge the two age limits: by the federal deck's own definition the option reaches up to age 21 in Medicaid and up to age 19 in the children's health program. Two programs, two ages.
- One boundary: lawfully residing and having any immigration status at all are not the same thing. Someone with no status does not fall within this option.
- Open ends: we could not find Nevada's own announcement about the 1 October 2026 change, and the conformity state plan amendment the federal agency asks every state to file by 31 December 2026 is not yet visible.
- Emergency Medicaid survives, the federal rule names it as the first of the three exceptions. But there is no emergency-services equivalent inside the children's health program; for a child outside the option there is no payment after 1 October 2026. That is a real gap.
The door here: one counterpart only, and the problem is identification, not a number
- There is no municipal assistance office to apply to. Because there is no municipality here, rent assistance, burial costs and similar items go straight to Clark County Social Service. In other cities a reader has to ask whether to go to the city or the county first; here that question never arises.
- What the county's assistance unit does and does not do: the county's own documents list financial assistance for rent, burial and cremation and out-of-state transport, plus homemaker and alternative care programs for residents aged 18 and over. Research did not find a general county indigent medical care program; we do not say there is none, we say we did not find one.
- The identification requirement, and this is the hardest line in the section: the county asks for a valid, unexpired Nevada government-issued photo ID showing a Clark County address. If you live here your address is already a Clark County address; what stops you may not be the address but the type of card.
- And this is where a driver authorization card can be a problem. The card carries the agency's own notation Not Valid for ID in its top portion, and the state handbook says the card cannot be used to determine eligibility for benefits, licenses or services issued or provided by the State of Nevada. We could not verify from the county's own page whether it accepts the card, so we say neither that it works nor that it does not; but think in advance about whether you have a second identification option before you go to this counter.
- Programme and agency names: the state's Medicaid program now sits under the Nevada Health Authority and the old abbreviation still appears throughout the documents; the children's health program is called Nevada Check Up; applications go through the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services using the Access Nevada portal. All four are correct and none of them is the same thing; naming the right program on the phone speeds things up.
- The general document list can frighten a reader, so we put two sentences side by side: the agency's leaflet asks for proof of citizenship, a Social Security card and the last two payslips, and that is the general list; it should be said in the same breath that emergency coverage and the option above do not depend on the applicant's own citizenship. We found no Nevada text removing the number requirement for emergency coverage.
- No source was found on whether Nevada Medicaid reports applicants to the immigration agency. Neither its existence nor its absence should be assumed.
- The state's own food and cash assistance programs were not researched this round. That is not a finding but an area outside the research scope; ask about the application route through Access Nevada.
The marketplace is the state's own
- Nevada runs its own health insurance marketplace: Nevada Health Link, operated by the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange. In some states in this series plans were bought from the federal site; that is not the case here, and the steps written for those states do not apply.
- 1 January 2027, support narrows: in the federal source's own words, from that date only three statuses qualify for premium savings. What follows matters: other statuses may still qualify for marketplace coverage but not for the savings.
One door we are not sending you to
The state has a unit called the Governor's Office for New Americans. But this page does not send a reader there for immigration paperwork, and the reason is not a guess: a federal memorandum of understanding states that the office stopped certain legal aid referrals. That description is that document's description; the office's own site never opened this round, so we could not verify its current position. For your immigration file the place to go is a lawyer or the organizations named in the state law section.
20 · Address change
I moved to Enterprise. Do I have to report my address?
Short answer
As a general rule most non-citizens, green card holders included, must report a new address within 10 days of moving. This is not an administrative preference but a statutory duty. The easiest route is the change of address screen in your online account; the paper AR-11 is also free. If you have a case in immigration court you must additionally notify the court within 5 days on Form EOIR-33. The trap specific to someone moving here comes from the post: your town's name probably does not appear on your envelope at all. Your postal address says Las Vegas, the sign at the entrance to your neighborhood says something else, and your official settlement name is neither. What the form asks about is not the envelope; it is the home you live in.
Steps, documents and official links
- Sign in to your online account and open the change of address screen. An online report satisfies the statutory duty; you do not need to send a paper AR-11 as well.
- Enter the receipt number of every pending application. Filing an AR-11 does not by itself change the address on a pending case.
- Tell the post office separately. A postal change of address does not update the agency's record, and the post office does not forward this agency's mail.
- If you have a court case, file Form EOIR-33/IC within 5 days. The court's address record changes only through that form.
- If you have a regular reporting condition, report the address through the immigration agency's own portal as well.
Holders of A and G visas and visitors arriving under the visa waiver program are outside this reporting duty.
Here your address has three names, and all three point to the same place
This may be the most practical paragraph on the page, because it is exactly the confusion a newcomer meets in the first week.
| Which name | Where it comes from | What it is good for |
|---|---|---|
| The name on the envelope | Mail delivery. For most households here it reads Las Vegas, NV | Post only. It shows no jurisdiction: the City of Las Vegas does not serve that address |
| The name on the neighborhood sign | The names of the master-planned developments, for example Mountain's Edge or Southern Highlands | Finding your way and speaking to the homeowners association. Not a unit of government |
| The official settlement name | The name used by the census agency and by the county | Statistics and the county's own community filter. It may never appear on a sign here |
For the AR-11 the right answer is clear: what the form asks for is the home address where you live, that is, your postal address with street, number and ZIP code. Do not try to guess the settlement name, write what is on your envelope; but do not assume that city name on the envelope gives you a municipality. Which service comes from which door is separated in the local services section.
Three kinds of move here, and all three require a report
- From inside a municipal boundary to here. Your envelope may still say Las Vegas, but from zoning to a business license, from a code complaint to a rubbish contract, your counterpart changes. The federal duty still arises.
- From one home in the unincorporated area to another. No official name changes and the ZIP code may stay identical. You have still moved.
- Changing streets inside the same neighborhood. That too is reportable.
Add this: someone moving here gives their address in the first week to several state and county agencies, from the driver licensing office to the water account, from school enrollment to the benefits portal. None of those is an AR-11. Giving your address to a state or county agency does not satisfy the federal duty.
And a second errand specific to this state: if you hold a driver authorization card, its change of address must be done in person, so there are two jobs and one of them needs an appointment. That carries an extra cost here: there is no driver licensing branch inside the town, so the appointment has to be at another office in the valley. The detail is in the driving license section.
One thing changed in 2026: take into account the federal rule that took effect on 29 June 2026 and reorganises alien registration and what counts as evidence of registration. You can read the text in the Federal Register entry. Check that the document you carry still counts as evidence of registration.
21 · Immigration agency
Where is the immigration agency's office near Enterprise, and where do you go for biometrics?
Short answer
We deliberately publish no address in this section, for a concrete reason: the agency's pages were closed this round both to direct access and to automated reading, and the archive service was entirely offline. We do not publish an office address from an old archive, because that is precisely the mistake that sends people on wasted journeys. The only correct sentence is this: the address you need is the one printed on your appointment notice. For a reader here that sentence carries extra weight: assuming the center nearest your postal address is the most misleading assumption in this town, because the city name on your envelope and the place you actually live do not line up. What you do need to know is the types of office: a field office conducts interviews, an application support center takes fingerprints and a photograph, and they are not the same place.
Steps, documents and official links
- Two offices, two jobs: green card and citizenship interviews happen at field offices, fingerprint and photograph appointments at application support centers. Confusing them costs an appointment day.
- No walk-ins. Field offices do not take visitors without an appointment; appointments are arranged through the Contact Center. Use your online account for case status and appointment requests.
- You do not choose the biometrics center: which one you attend is printed on the I-797C notice. What to take is set out in our article on the biometrics appointment.
- A warning for readers here: do not type your town's name into a federal agency's search box. In the passport section below we show the concrete proof from federal data: this town's name does not appear at all in one federal data file. When you search, use your ZIP code.
- What the center does not do: application support centers give no information about your case and provide no service beyond taking biometrics. Ask case questions to the Contact Center, not to the center.
- Appointments are free: the Contact Center is on 1-800-375-5283. Intermediary sites that charge for an appointment are a scam.
- Asylum interviews: we could not verify this round that there is a separate asylum office in this valley. Form I-589 is not handed in at an asylum office; it is sent by the filing route the agency specifies. The office list is on the agency's own page.
- Processing times: on the processing times page, select the form, the category and the office holding your case.
Do not confuse the three agencies, and the court itself says so
The immigration court in this valley directs readers on its own page to the separate locators of the immigration agency, the enforcement arm and the legal counsel office, and adds a reminder: the immigration agency and the enforcement arm are part of the Department of Homeland Security, while the court is a separate body under the Department of Justice. Readers mix these three up constantly; the court will not answer what you ask the agency, and the agency will not answer what you ask the court.
There is a fourth confusion specific to this town, so we will name it: the town has an advisory board, but that board is not a government. There is no local body here that answers any question about immigration paperwork, and these matters are federal in any case. What the board can and cannot do is set out in the state law section below.

22 · Court
Where do you go from Enterprise for immigration court, and how do you check a case?
Short answer
Nevada's only immigration court is not in this town but in the county's center: 110 North City Parkway, Suite 400, Las Vegas, NV 89106, telephone 702-458-0227. Three things up front. First, filings are accepted at the window in a single continuous period each day: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some courts in this series split the day into three separate windows; do not carry that warning here. Second, the court does not docket faxes and electronic submissions it has not asked for, and discards them without telling the sender. Third, and most practical for anyone traveling from here: the court states on its own page that parking and public transportation in its area are very limited. That is not our commentary; it is the court's own sentence. We publish no distance figure, because none came from a source this round.
Steps, documents and official links
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| The court | Nevada's only immigration court, in the county's center |
| Address | 110 North City Parkway, Suite 400, Las Vegas, NV 89106 |
| Telephone | 702-458-0227 |
| Open days | Weekdays, closed on federal holidays; may close unexpectedly in bad weather or another emergency |
| Visiting and filing hours | 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a single continuous window |
| General e-mail | [email protected] |
| Asylum clock requests | [email protected]. The request must give the name, the alien registration number and why the clock needs correcting. The court states that this address is only for those requests and that other subjects will not be answered |
| Fax and electronic submissions | Not accepted unless staff or the judge has specifically asked for them. The court's own wording: unsolicited submissions are not docketed and are discarded without being reviewed and without notice to the sender |
| Parking and public transport | The court's own text: there is a private car park nearby at 3.00 USD per half hour, and a restaurant directly across from it validates 1 hour. What follows matters: parking and public transportation in this area are very limited |
| Entering the building | Visitors are escorted by a member of staff from the ground floor lobby to the fourth floor hearing lobby and sign in at the fourth floor security point. All electronic devices must be switched off before entering the lobby |
| Security | A metal detector and bag check on every visit; you may be asked to remove shoes, hats and sunglasses; no food or drink except as the judge permits; cameras and recording devices prohibited |
| Hearings | Open to the public, and in the court's own words no advance notice is required for your visit |
Planning the day from here
The court is not in the town but in the center to the north, and going there is a day out of a household here. The court's own warning says parking and public transport are very limited in that area, and we will not put a route suggestion on top of that sentence. Three practical consequences:
- Parking is paid in half-hour increments and you do not know how long a hearing will run, so it is an open-ended cost. Take coins or a card.
- Do not plan to get to anything else that day. Travelling there and back is a day in itself.
- If you are going by bus, work the route out yourself and leave long before the hearing; the shape of the service in this town is in the public transport section, but the court says the network in its own area is very limited.
Which court has jurisdiction: here the answers line up, but the rule is the same
- The federal administrative control list ties a case to authority, not to distance. The list sets out which cases a court may control by reference to the federal office that issued the paperwork and to specified detention facilities. You can see it on the agency's own page.
- For this town two records point the same way: the relevant line of the list names the federal office in this valley and its sub-offices together with almost all of Nevada's detention and correctional facilities. So for someone living here, court and geography generally coincide.
- But the rule does not change, and it has one sentence: read the notice you were sent. It names the court and the address. The position in the north of the state is different and we set the whole distinction out in our Nevada guide; if you are thinking of moving north, read it there.
A remote hearing is a possibility, not a right
- The agency publishes an internet hearing link and a telephone access code for each judge; for telephone attendance you dial a single number and enter the judge's code.
- But the agency's own note says this: for people with no representative of record, the default hearing format is in person in every case. So a reader without a lawyer should expect to attend in person, which bears directly on the day plan above.
- Whether a case is heard remotely is the judge's decision; this page promises you nothing.
- Lawyers and accredited representatives must register with the agency's own registry. Check that whoever will represent you is registered.
- Online checking: your A number is enough for the case information system; the telephone line is 1-800-898-7180. The official information is still the hearing notice.
- Check closures on the morning of the hearing: the agency's operational status page and the court's own social media accounts.
Immigration enforcement and customs: no addresses, but the rule
- No immigration enforcement or customs office address, telephone number or name is published on this page. Those agencies' pages were closed to automated access this round and the archive was offline. Confirm check-in locations from the agency's own check-in page.
- Detention information line: 1-888-351-4024. If you have a reporting condition, speak to your lawyer before you attend.
- The federal list establishes one thing and we write it carefully: many Nevada detention and correctional facilities are named among those whose cases the court may control. That does not mean any of those facilities holds a detention agreement; the list says where a case is controlled from, and nothing more.
The border zone question: we write no claim
In states with a land border this series explained the federal reasonable-distance rule. Nevada has no international land border and no coast. Even so, we could not verify from any source this round whether any part of the state falls inside a zone measured from another state's external boundary, and we write nothing in either direction. The one certain thing is this: a state line inside the United States is not an external border. We also write nothing about what an officer would do.
Where do I find my I-94, and what if it is wrong?
You can download the I-94 for your most recent entry from the customs agency's site. Errors made at entry, meaning the wrong visa class, the wrong name or the wrong period of stay, are corrected by offices known as deferred inspection sites. We could not verify the location and hours of that office in this valley this round, so we publish no address and no days here; read the list from the agency's own page.
- Write first, travel second. Some of these offices are open only a few hours a week.
- They correct only errors made at the moment of entry. They are not a general help desk.
- Why it matters: the duration of your work authorization and some application eligibilities depend on what the I-94 says; in this state the validity of identity and license cards can also be tied to the document presented. The detail is in the driving license section.
23 · State law
What is the local position in Enterprise on federal immigration enforcement?
Short answer
This section does not tell you what will happen; it tells you what the documents say. Three things up front. First: the state statute text could not be read by any route this round, so below we cite statute numbers only as the agencies themselves cite them, quote no statutory text and derive no numbering. Second: the main document we rely on is a federal memorandum of understanding signed between the Department of Justice and the Governor's office and published on the department's own site. Third, and directly relevant here: that same federal document states that the police department that serves this town rejoined the federal 287(g) program on 4 June 2025. Because there has never been a municipal police force here, this item applies here directly and a reader cannot infer it from another settlement's answer. Read none of the lines below as either a protection or a threat.
Steps, documents and official links
A source warning, because it belongs at the very top of this section
The legislature's own site blocked every route attempted, commercial and non-profit mirrors returned nothing, and the archive service was entirely offline. The memorandum of understanding dated 26 September 2025 that we rely on was read with two separate text-extraction methods and the two readings agreed on every figure. We also state what kind of document it is: this is a text in which a federal agency and the Governor's office record their own commitments and assertions. Where it characterises a statute, that characterisation is the parties' characterisation, not the statute's own text.
First the local structure: there is no local policy question to ask here
This town has no government of its own. The county's own document states that in Nevada the county commissioners are the legally constituted town boards for all unincorporated towns and that all official governmental decisions are made by the Board of County Commissioners. The practical consequence for this section is clear:
- The town's advisory board is not a government. Its members are appointed rather than elected; the board cannot license, cannot fine and cannot take binding decisions. So it is legally incapable of adopting a local policy on immigration cooperation.
- The chain of counterparts has three links: on policing, the county's department and the elected county sheriff; politically, the Clark County Board of County Commissioners; in litigation, the federal courts and federal agencies.
- So looking for a local rule here means looking for a county-level decision and a sheriff's department decision. There is no such thing as a town-level decision.
What the document contains, with what it does and does not say in the same breath
| Item | What the document says | What it does not say |
|---|---|---|
| State statute | Two sections place on the state attorney general a duty to publish model policies on how public officers interact with federal immigration authorities | It does not say the statute orders local agencies to do anything. We could not read the statutory text, so this characterisation is the document's |
| Model policies | The attorney general's model immigration policies were published on 24 February 2025. The document characterises them as non-binding and inconsistent with the Governor's direction | We could not read the policies themselves. And the attorney general's office is reported to reject that characterisation; we take no side |
| The department serving this town, and 287(g) | The document states that on 4 June 2025 the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department rejoined the federal 287(g) program. The same department polices the City of Las Vegas and all unincorporated areas of the county, which includes this town | The model and scope of the agreement could not be verified. A 287(g) agreement is not a power to stop people and ask their status, and the scope varies by model. We do not describe the scope |
| Federal funding | The document states that 895,889.60 USD of federal funds is allocated to that department for intelligence gathering and information-sharing capacity with federal partners. Approval date 8 August 2025 | Whether the work was completed could not be verified. And a funding allocation says nothing about any individual's case |
| National Guard | On 8 August 2025 the Governor records in the document having authorized the Guard to assist immigration operations in an administrative support capacity | Administrative support and law enforcement authority are not the same thing; the document does not assert the second |
| The corrections department | Under an internal memorandum dated 27 March 2025 the department screens the citizenship status of all new inmates at intake, shares information about foreign-born inmates, tracks federal requests and coordinates pre-release transfers | This is a corrections procedure; it describes no power related to arrest or everyday policing |
| A bill about schools | Vetoed on 5 June 2025. The bill would have barred federal immigration officers from school grounds without a judicial warrant and prohibited the sharing of student information | It did not become law. Do not read it as meaning such a state rule exists for schools; the veto itself was verified |
| A federal list | When read on 10 October 2026, the list published by the Department of Justice does not include Nevada, nor any Nevada county or settlement | This is not a guarantee. The department's own page says the list will be reviewed regularly |
| The document's own terms | It takes effect on signature, continues until terminated, and either party may end it on 30 days written notice | The document expressly creates no enforceable right or benefit for anyone |
What could not be verified, and why it is left blank
- The federal agency's own participant list could not be read. Its 287(g) page and data file were closed to access this round. So we have no current status information from the agency about the department that serves this town. We do not say there is none; we say we could not verify it.
- A lawsuit against the agreement is reported to have been filed and to be on appeal. We know that only from news sources; no court record was read. We do not predict the outcome and we do not describe what the agreement authorizes on the basis of one party's pleading.
- Sources disagree even on the date; the federal document dates the rejoining to 4 June 2025, while some news sources say May. We record the conflict rather than resolving it.
- A structural warning, and it matters particularly on this page: this department's answer does not apply to every settlement in the county. Some cities in Clark County stayed out of the 1973 consolidation and have their own police departments; in the north of the state the agencies are different again. Do not carry the answer that applies here to a neighboring city, and do not carry a neighboring city's answer here.
Free and low-cost legal help: not in the town, two doors in the valley
- Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, the main door in the south. Address and telephone are in its own site footer: 725 E. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89104, (702) 386-1070, TTY (702) 386-1059. Its immigration arm is called the Immigration Advocacy Project; the topics it publishes include know-your-rights material, a family preparedness plan, status, law enforcement and detention and bond, schools and employers, parole in place for military families, Violence Against Women Act petitions and the crime victim visa. The organization also runs free classes, ask-a-lawyer sessions and self-help material.
- But in the same breath as the word free: we could not read the organization's eligibility criteria this round. We publish no income limit or status requirement and we promise no representation. The honest instruction is: apply and find out. Its site also carried a notice that a street beside the main office was closed for construction; check before you go.
- UNLV Immigration Clinic, within the law school, and narrow but genuinely different. In the clinic's own words it serves three groups: unaccompanied children in removal proceedings, detained adults in removal proceedings, and certain members of the university community. The clinic's own sentences: all of our services are free and we never charge a fee, and immediately alongside it, our capacity is limited and we cannot guarantee that we can help everyone. For the first two groups the line is 702-895-3000, weekdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is not a general immigration advice line: a reader seeking help with a family petition falls outside its scope.
- Neither is inside this town, and this page does not hide that: here, legal aid like every other institutional service sits elsewhere in the valley. Book before you go and build the journey into the day.
- What the court itself gives for free: the agency publishes self-help material and an online court resource explaining what happens at a hearing and how to prepare. That is general information, not representation.
- We found no state board, council or program specific to Türkiye, and no Turkish association in this town whose activity we could verify from its own site. We do not say there is none; we say the research did not find one.
How not to use this section
We say this plainly. The state statute text could not be read; the current status of the local agreement was not confirmed by the agency; two senior state offices make opposite statements on the same subject; and the federal document we rely on can be ended by either party on 30 days notice. Do not use this page to decide where to live. Choosing a neighborhood or a county on the strength of these lines wins you nothing and gives you either false confidence or false fear. Ask a lawyer about your own situation.
24 · Voting and jury duty
I am not a citizen. Can I register to vote in Enterprise, and what if I get a jury summons?
Short answer
Voter registration and voting belong to U.S. citizens only, green card holders included. Registering or voting without citizenship can have severe consequences for your immigration file and is also a criminal offense. On jury service we have to be honest: we could not verify this round which public records Nevada builds its master jury list from, so we do not know whether driver license records feed into it. What to do if a summons arrives is clear and set out below. One point specific to this town: there is no elected local office here at all. The town's advisory board members are appointed, so even once you are a citizen there is no mayor and no council to vote for here; the local line on your ballot is the county commission line.
Steps, documents and official links
Voter registration: the rule is clear
- Citizenship is the requirement. Voting and registering in federal and state elections belong to U.S. citizens. A green card holder, someone with work authorization, a student or a person with a pending asylum claim cannot register.
- The immigration consequence is serious. Registering or voting without citizenship is a direct problem in front of the officer assessing eligibility and good moral character; the policy manual treats the subject in a section of its own.
- Read the box on the form. If a driving license, identity card or public service application contains a voter registration section, signing that section counts in most states as a sworn statement that you are a citizen. We could not verify from an official source this round how a Nevada license application connects to voter registration; read every section of the form put in front of you at the counter, do not sign a section you do not understand, and do not answer yes to a citizenship question if you are not a citizen.
- Do not complete voter registration forms handed to you by volunteers at the door or at events, even if a campaign worker tells you it will not matter.
- A distinction: some local decisions are taken at the ballot box and end up inside the rate you pay at the till; we explained that in the tax section. But a ballot measure affecting you does not give you a right to vote.
Local representation: even as a citizen there is no municipality to vote for here
This paragraph answers a question asked as often as the registration one: who represents you here.
- The town's advisory board is not elected. By the county's own document the board is appointed and serves an advisory function; it is not a decision-making body.
- The elected counterpart is a county commissioner. All official governmental decisions are made by the Clark County Board of County Commissioners, and the county lets you look up on its own page which commissioner covers your address.
- The second elected office is the sheriff. The head of the police department is the elected county sheriff, so the ballot-box counterpart of any policing debate sits at county level here.
- Once you are a citizen you will see those two local lines on your ballot; you will not see a mayoral or city council line.
Jury summons: what we know and what we do not
- We say what we do not know: we could not verify which public records Nevada's master jury list is built from. In some states the driver license pool feeds the jury list and a lawfully present foreign national can receive a summons.
- If a summons arrives: do not ignore it and do not throw it away. Ring the jury office of the court named on the letter as soon as possible, or respond online as the letter instructs, and tell them you do not meet the requirements for jury service. Use the number on your letter, not a general number, because there is more than one court in the valley and the one that summoned you is your counterpart. There is no municipal court here, so the summons will come from a county or state court.
- A summons is not a mistake: lists are built from public records and your name appearing on one does not mean any proceeding has been opened against you. It is not something to panic about; it is also not something to leave unanswered.
- Jury eligibility rules genuinely vary between states. We could not read Nevada's text on this, because the state legislature's site did not open by any route this round, so we say neither that you are eligible nor that you are not. Ask the court and ask for the answer in writing.
If you have just become a citizen: you may now register. Confirm the requirements and the routes from the state elections authority's own page and take the current form from there.
25 · New citizens
I became a citizen. How do I get a U.S. passport from Enterprise?
Short answer
A first U.S. passport is applied for in person on Form DS-11: you take the original of your citizenship document to an acceptance facility. And this section has to begin with a warning, because a reader from this town can get lost inside the federal system: this town's name does not appear anywhere in the State Department's acceptance facility data file. All 47 Nevada records are filed under other postal names. So searching by your own town's name returns nothing, and that is not an omission but a consequence of the system recognizing settlements by postal name. Search by your ZIP code or by the name Las Vegas. The second warning: take the hours from the agency, not from the federal data file, because the federal file understates the widest windows in this county.
Steps, documents and official links
First warning: your town's name is not in the federal data
The research measured this from the federal file itself. There are 47 acceptance facilities on record in Nevada, and among their postal cities neither this town's name nor that of a neighboring settlement appears at all. Most records are filed under Las Vegas, with others under Reno, Henderson and North Las Vegas, and the rest spread across the state's smaller settlements.
- The practical consequence: type your town's name into the federal finder and you get zero results. That does not mean there is no acceptance facility near you; on the contrary there is, but it is filed under a different postal name.
- The right search: enter your ZIP code in the finder. A ZIP search is the only reliable route from this town.
- The same logic operates elsewhere: the city field in the federal file is a postal label, not a unit of government. In the same file one neighboring city appears as two separate postal cities, under its full name and a shortened one.
- The data is clean but incomplete: the research found a valid ZIP code on all 47 records and a complete telephone number on 45; two records have an empty telephone field and neither of those is in this valley. So the problem is not corrupt data but the settlement name being absent entirely.
An acceptance facility and an agency are two different things
This is the distinction readers confuse most. An acceptance facility can be a post office, a county clerk, a library or a city counter, and it takes and forwards a routine or expedited application. A passport agency is for urgent travel and is an entirely separate thing. Everything below is acceptance facilities only.
The county clerk, from the agency's own page
The lines below come from the agency's own page, not from the federal file. There are two counters and they do not keep the same hours. Because there is no counter in this town, the counterpart is the county directly.
| Item | What the agency publishes |
|---|---|
| Government center counter | 500 S Grand Central Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89155. Appointments Monday to Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. |
| Marriage license counter | 201 E Clark Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Appointments: 7 days, 8:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. · Appointments: Sunday to Thursday, 3:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. · Walk-ins: 7 days, 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. |
| County processing fee | 35 USD; cash, credit card, check, money order or cashier's check. Cheques not made out to the county clerk are not accepted |
| The federal fee and the cash trap | The federal application fee is payable only by check, money order or cashier's check made out to the U.S. Department of State; cash and credit cards are not accepted. So at the same counter there are two fees, two payees and two payment rules |
| What they do not do | No renewals. The agency writes on its own page that it receives many calls about renewals, that it does not provide the service, and that renewals run by post only |
| Identification, and this is the critical line of the section | The agency's own sentence: a standard Nevada driving license carrying the notation that it is not for federal official use is accepted as primary identification; a driver authorization card is not accepted for a passport application |
| Appointments | Slots open up to 15 days in advance. The agency's warning: do not ring if nothing is showing, check daily. To cancel, (702) 671-0600 |
| Photographs | Both counters have a photo booth: 14.99 USD, credit card only, two 2x2 inch photographs. Arrive at least 20 minutes before the appointment. The agency's own warning is that an unacceptable photograph is the most common reason appointments are rescheduled |
| Children | Every child needs their own passport whatever their age and the child must be present; both parents or guardians are asked to attend. Those aged 16 and 17 with their own identification may apply alone, though the agency still recommends a parent attends |
Let us say plainly why that table takes up so much room: the marriage license counter's late and walk-in window is the widest passport access this series has seen, and a real difference for a reader who cannot take a weekday off. But the same counter does not do renewals and will not take the federal fee on a card. Do not go without a check or money order.
And a recorded conflict: the federal file prints one ZIP code for the government center and the agency's own page prints another. Use the agency's own ZIP for the agency's own building; we record the conflict rather than resolving it. The same conflict exists on hours and there the gap is far larger: the federal file does not contain most of that counter's windows at all.
Nearby facilities, and the second proof of the postal trap
- Library branches are acceptance facilities too. The county library district's headquarters branch, the Windmill Library, is recorded in the federal file at 7060 W. Windmill Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89113, telephone (702) 507-6030, and its own note says appointments are booked through the system's passport page.
- Read that line together with the round's central trap. As we wrote in the tax section above, the police command named after this town is on the same street and in the same ZIP code: Las Vegas, NV 89113. So the institution carrying your own town's name and one of the nearest passport counters both appear in federal and local records as Las Vegas. That does not mean there is no service near you; it means it cannot be found by your town's name.
- Other library facilities in the valley: one branch's published window is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., by appointment only; another branch's federal record carries no note and no link at all, so ring before you go.
- A counter of the southern Nevada health district is also an acceptance facility and its own note says it offers photocopying. That can save your appointment if you arrived without copies.
- The university has its own passport office: by appointment, weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., inside the student union building. If you are a student or university employee that may be the shortest route.
- Several post offices are acceptance facilities and their appointments are booked through the postal service's own scheduler.
- Do not pick a facility from a line on this page. The same valley holds facilities open only a few hours a week and one counter open late seven days a week. Ring before you go.
- We publish no fee. We could not read the federal passport fees from the agency's own page this round. Read the current amounts from the State Department's fee page. The 35 USD county processing fee is a separate item.
- Which cases must be in person: first-time adult applicants, children under 16, anyone whose passport was lost, stolen or damaged, and anyone whose passport was issued before they turned 16 or is more than 15 years old. Renewals are done by post.
Urgent travel: we do not name the nearest agency
- The State Department's agency list could not be read by any route this round. So we do not say which agency is nearest, give no address or hours, and use no distance figure. Read the list from the department's own page.
- The general conditions for an urgent application must be confirmed from that page too: nothing we could read this round came from a primary source, so we publish no figure and no number of days.
- But one warning needs no source: pay no site that charges for a passport appointment. Appointments are free.
- Do not overlook the alternative that needs no journey: routine and expedited applications run by post through the national passport center.
One distinction: this section is about a U.S. passport, meaning for someone who has become a citizen or for a child born here. A Turkish passport is not renewed at a post office; that runs through the Consulate General.
Not sure about a step?
Ask before you do something that touches your immigration status
Applying for a benefit, changing your address, registering to vote or answering a jury summons can all show up in your file. You can speak with Attorney Asim Clinch, a Turkish-speaking immigration attorney working with clients in Clark County, in English or Turkish.
26 · Things to do
What is there to do in and around Enterprise, and what does it cost?
Short answer
The question in this section is different from the one in the other city guides. Asking what is in town is the wrong question here, because there is no town in the governmental sense: there is no municipal park, no municipal museum and no municipal events calendar. But there is no void either: the county's own park system lists roughly twenty parks under this settlement's name, and we name them below. The right question is what is nearest. The second item is money: state park entry is priced by number plate, not per person. A vehicle without Nevada plates pays the higher tariff at every gate, so there is a hidden cost to delaying your registration. Third, the big federal landscape to the west of this town cannot be visited on impulse for eight months of the year, and we explain why below.
Steps, documents and official links
The county's own list: parks filed under this settlement's name
There is no municipality here, so there is no municipal park either. But this settlement appears in the county's own park locator as a community filter, and that filter returns roughly twenty records, all in the county's District F and its Southwest quadrant. In the county's own spellings:
| Park | Note |
|---|---|
| Exploration Peak Park (Mountains Edge) | The county's own record lists a water spray park, an amphitheatre, a playground, volleyball, horseshoe pits, picnic facilities and a walking path. For a household with children this is the strongest item on the list |
| Mountain's Edge Regional Park | A regional park carrying the name of the same master-planned development |
| Silverado Ranch Park | The county's record names a skate park, a dog park, a fitness course, softball fields, horseshoes, concessions and a walking path |
| Western Trails Park and Western Trails Equestrian Park | Two separate records carrying the same name; the second is an equestrian facility |
| Battle Born Park · Cougar Creek Park · Jimmy Pettyjohn Park · Nathaniel Jones Park · Nevada Trails Park · Southwest Ridge Park | Neighbourhood parks |
| Goett Family Park (So. Highlands) · Inzalaco Family Park (So. Highlands) · Somerset Hills Park (So. Highlands) · Stonewater Park (Southern Highlands) · Olympia Sports Park (Southern Highlands) | All carry the name of the same development. The county's own spelling uses both the abbreviated and the full form; try both when searching |
| Cactus Jones Dog Park | A dog park |
| Doc Johnson Rose Garden | A rose garden |
| Silvestri Middle School | Listed under that name in the county's own results, which means the list is not made up only of parks: shared school facilities fall into the same filter. Ask whether it is open to the public before you go |
- The first conclusion from the list: the settlement's name here is not a park name and not a unit of government, it is a filter value in the county's own system. The park you visit is a Clark County park run by the county. Do not look for a parks department; there is none.
- The second conclusion, and this page's orientation problem: the settlement's name often never appears on a sign on the ground. The sign says Mountain's Edge or Southern Highlands, your envelope says Las Vegas, and your official settlement name is a third name. All three are correct and all three mean the same place.
- A warning about the feature lists: the features of the two parks above were read from the county's search index, not from the park pages themselves. Ask whether the water spray park is open this season before you go; these facilities run seasonally.
The name trap: three layers, all three true, none of them the same
Do not skip this paragraph; it answers every address question on this page, and the thing that costs most money here is not a price but a name.
- The administrative fact, and we state it firmly: the great hotel and casino corridor the world knows as Las Vegas is inside no municipal boundary; it is the unincorporated area of Clark County. Two independent sources establish that: the county's own text and the county's own mapping service. The break point is Sahara Avenue.
- The county's own town name, and we state it with a qualifier: in the county's own map data that area appears as Paradise, and at its northern end as Winchester. That comes from a single source and the county's prose text does not give those two names, so we do not write flatly that it is there.
- The statistical layer, which is the trap itself: another layer of the same service calls the same points Las Vegas, and so does the envelope. A postal name is for delivery, a statistical layer is for counting, and jurisdiction lives in the municipal layer.
- The southern end of the boulevard and the famous welcome sign are close to this town, and some sources place the sign on this settlement's side or on the line between two settlements. We do not state that as settled: it was not confirmed from a boundary document. What is certain is point one above, namely that none of it belongs to any municipality.
- A Las Vegas, NV postal address is not proof of jurisdiction. The clearest evidence is the county's own parks: two of the large parks the county runs are written with a Las Vegas ZIP code. Look at the operator, not the envelope; the detail is in the local services section.
- There is a reverse trap too, and do not try to correct it: the state historic park with Las Vegas in its name really is inside the City of Las Vegas. By contrast the free museum carrying the county's name is in another city in the county, so going there is a day trip, not an afternoon.
State parks: the fee looks at your plate
The parks are run by the Nevada Division of State Parks, which presents itself as Nevada State Parks, head office telephone (775) 684-2770. The tariff below was read from the agency's own fee page on 10 October 2026, and we have kept only those reachable from here.
| Park | Daily entry | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Spring Mountain Ranch State Park | 10.00 USD per vehicle, 15.00 USD for a vehicle without Nevada plates | One of the state parks nearest the western side of the valley and this town. Free with a library park pass |
| Valley of Fire State Park | 10.00 USD per vehicle, out-of-state plates 15.00 USD | Camping 20 / 25 USD per vehicle per night; 10 USD extra for a hook-up site. Entry by bicycle 2 USD. North-east of the valley, a day trip |
| Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park | Museum entry 3.00 USD, free for ages 12 and under | North of the valley, inside the Las Vegas city limits. Charged as museum entry rather than a per-vehicle gate fee |
| Ice Age Fossils State Park | 3.00 USD per person, free for ages 12 and under | The only park priced per person rather than per vehicle, and the newest in the state. At the northern end of the valley |
- The plate rule connects directly to the vehicle registration section. There is a hidden cost to delaying registration, and for a household that visits a few parks a year it is real money. How and when registration is done is in the vehicle registration section. The item matters more here, because there is no driver licensing and registration branch inside the town and you already have to travel into the valley for an appointment; the longer you put it off, the longer you pay the visitor tariff at every park gate.
- There is no free entry on foot. The agency's own rule charges 2 USD per person arriving on foot, on horseback or by bicycle at every park that charges. In some states in this series walking in was free; here it is not.
- Annual permits: an annual day use permit is 100 USD and all access is 250 USD, both valid 12 months from the date of purchase and posted out as a physical placard. There is no renewal; you apply again. The agency also publishes separate permits for Nevada resident seniors and disabled veterans; we publish no price for those two, nor for the veteran and tribal member passes.
- A discount is a discount, not free entry: the agency gives one dollar off the daily entrance fee to holders of a disability placard and to active military and veterans. In some states in this series veterans entered free; that sentence would be wrong here.
- Do not arrive without cash. At least one park in the system expressly does not take cards, and the agency publishes a separate collection fee for anyone who does not deposit the fee in a self-service device.
The nearest big landscape: structure verified, price not
The large federal landscape west of this town is the nearest big natural area reachable from here, and it carries the most consequential planning fact in this section. It is managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
- A timed entry reservation is required: to enter the scenic drive from 1 October to 31 May, for entry between 08:00 and 17:00, and in the agency's own words each vehicle entering needs a reservation. The reservation is separate from the entrance fee and is needed even if you already hold a pass.
- So for eight months of the year it cannot be visited on impulse. For a household here that is the single most consequential sentence in this file: the great landscape nearest your home has to be planned in advance for two thirds of the year.
- Scenic drive hours are seasonal: November to February 06:00 to 17:00; March 06:00 to 19:00; April to September 06:00 to 20:00; October 06:00 to 19:00; Thanksgiving and Christmas Day 06:00 to 12:00.
- We publish no figure. The agency publishes neither an entrance fee nor an annual pass price on any page we could read, and the reservation site renders its prices from code. Read the number from the reservation site.
- The agency's own accessibility notes: one trail is rocky and crosses a wash that will likely be impassable after any rain, visitors need to be able to lift their feet at least four inches, cactuses and yuccas have the potential to cause injuries, and busy days can be loud and overstimulating.
- Commercial buses and vans pay 5 USD extra per person on arrival, excluding the driver.
The library park pass: real, but two of them
The program is called the Nevada State Parks Library Park Pass and was read from the agency's own page. It is the most valuable free item in this file, but we do not write that it exists for you; we describe the structure and tell you to ask.
| Question | The agency's answer |
|---|---|
| What it is | A free day-use entry permit a Nevada public library card holder can check out, valid for one vehicle carrying up to 8 people |
| Where it works | At all 27 Nevada state parks. It does not work on federal, regional or other public lands |
| Loan period | One week, checked out at your own public library |
| Museum fees | Covered. The agency names three state park museum entries, one of them the state historic park north of the valley |
| Camping and boating | Not covered, day use entry only |
| Guaranteed entry | No. The agency states that pass holders are not given priority and that admission depends on available space |
| Where to get one | The agency's own sentence: at participating Nevada public libraries, and ask your own library whether it is participating this year |
- And here is the real number: the agency's own press release of 13 January 2023 says each public library in Nevada has been provided with two passes. Two passes, a one-week loan, and a valley of two million people. The pass is rationed; this page promises you no free weekend.
- The program is still described as a pilot and began in 2023. We could not verify this year's participation by the library system that serves this town, because the system's own site never opened this round. We do not write that every library lends a pass; ring your own branch.
- One advantage seen from here: this town has a library branch carrying its own name, and the district's headquarters branch is nearby too. Ring the branch and ask are you lending passes this year. This is one of the rare places where the town's name appears in an institution's name.
- This is where people go wrong most: the pass does not work on federal land. So it is useless at the federal landscape west of here and at the federal recreation area around the lake. It does not apply at county parks either, but those have no entrance fee in the first place.
Other big items in the valley
- The federal recreation area around the lake charges: a private vehicle is 25.00 USD covering 1 to 7 days; a motorcycle 20 USD; on foot or by bicycle 15.00 USD per person; the area's own annual pass is 45.00 USD, valid a year from the month of purchase. The line that matters to a family: in the agency's own words children under the age of 16 do not need an entrance pass. It is at the eastern end of the valley, which from this town is the opposite direction from the landscape to the west.
- The federal fossil monument at the north of the valley is free. The agency's own sentence: no fees or passes are currently required to enter. But there is an address trap: the agency publishes a mailing address and labels it itself as not to be used for navigation purposes. That address is not where the monument is; do not type it into a satnav. Information line 702-293-8853.
- The national park in the east of the state charges no entrance fee but is not near here; it is a holiday, not a day out. Cave tours are separately ticketed and payment is cashless.
- The large culture and nature attraction in the middle of the valley shares a ticket with the state museum on the same campus, and the Nevada resident price is almost half the visitor price. The detail is in the free and family section below.
Heat: the agencies' own warnings
We write this section as a planning item, not as decoration, and we use the agencies' own language.
- The National Park Service's own sentence about the lake area, capitals its own: it writes that it cannot be emphasised enough that hiking from late spring to early fall can be VERY DANGEROUS because of extreme heat, and recommends delaying hiking plans to cooler seasons.
- Water: the same agency says to carry at least one gallon, that is 4 litres, of drinking water per person per day and to drink even when you are not thirsty. In summer stay on paved roads, wait with your vehicle if it breaks down, and keep spare water in the car.
- Swimming: the same page states that there are no lifeguards and no designated swim beaches. Pool toys, inflatable or not, are prohibited and anyone bringing them may be cited. In late summer and early autumn there is a blue-green algae warning: do not touch bright green or yellow foam, do not swim there, do not drink untreated lake water, and rinse off when you come out.
- Summer monsoon rain: a distant storm can create a flash flood in a valley that has seen no rain; do not hike or camp in dry washes and low ground. That warning applies directly on the trails west of this town, because the agency's own accessibility note says one trail crosses a wash that is impassable after rain.
- Paid attractions have a heat rule too. The large culture and nature attraction in the valley writes on its own ticket page that in summer months and under extreme heat advisories outdoor areas may close early and that the playground, trails, train and trolley rides may not be available. Some facilities close at midday in summer; build an outdoor plan around the season.
What we are not writing in this section
- Any fee for the federal area to the west. We wrote the structure, not the figure.
- The name or price of any hotel, show or entertainment venue on the corridor. None of them was researched this round and those prices change constantly. Check each venue's own site and ask about the age limit before you pay; the reason is in the section below.
- Any distance or driving time, because none came from a source this round.
- Opening hours and facility lists for the parks above. We read them from the county's search index, not from the park pages themselves.
- The full statewide park list. We kept only what is reachable from here; the rest is in our Nevada guide.
27 · Free and family-friendly
What is free and family-friendly in and around Enterprise?
Short answer
In this valley the answer to where do you take children looks like nowhere else, and the reason is not a list of parks but an age limit. The legal gambling age here is 21, and the regulator's own text defines a class of venue that prohibits patrons under the age of 21 from entering. And the same text lists that venue's dance area as possibly being a swimming pool or a pool deck. So a hotel pool can legally be a 21-and-over venue: a family that books a hotel on the strength of its pool photographs may not be able to take their child into that pool. That is the source of the most expensive mistake on this page, and it is written into the regulator's own rules. Beyond that there are genuinely free items, and here most of them are county parks.
Steps, documents and official links
Pools and the age of 21: the question to ask before you book
- The regulator's own text, defining a class of venue inside a hotel casino property, lists one of its characteristics in these words: prohibits patrons under the age of 21 from entering the venue. The same definition says the dance area may be a designated dance floor, a swimming pool or a pool deck.
- The practical consequence: if a hotel's pool falls into that class, your child cannot go in. Do not decide on the strength of photographs and star ratings; ring the hotel before booking and ask whether the pool has an age limit, and ask too whether the same property has a separate pool open to children.
- For a household living here the question comes up more often than it does for a tourist, because the person putting up a visitor from Türkiye, trying to book a hotel pool for a birthday, or buying a day pass to cool off in summer all run into the same wall. A pool is a reason to pick a hotel here all summer, which is exactly why no booking should be made without asking about the age limit.
- And we put the free alternative deliberately alongside it: one of the county's parks in this settlement has a water spray park, and county parks are free. It runs seasonally, so ask whether it is open before you go; but for a child, this is the free, age-unrestricted way to get into water in summer.
- The gambling age is a separate and harder item: for under-21s it is not only playing that is barred but also loitering in gaming areas. We could not read the text of the statute, because the state legislature's site did not open by any route this round, so we neither quote it nor publish a penalty figure. What matters in practice is this: a child can pass through a casino floor with a parent on the way from one place to another, but cannot stand and wait at the machines and tables.
- There is a night curfew too, but we do not publish the hour. It is reported that Clark County applies a night-time limit for under-18s and that the rule is stricter on the hotel corridor; but sources contradict one another on the hour and the days, and we could not read the county code. We publish no time. There is no municipal code enforcement here to apply such a rule either; the counterpart is the county's police department. If you are planning a late evening with children, check the county's current code.
What is genuinely free
- The county's parks, and here they carry the weight of this list. We named them above: roughly twenty parks are filed under this settlement's name, all run by the county and with no entrance fee. Playgrounds, a skate park, dog parks, a fitness course, a rose garden and a water spray park are inside that list. Do not look for a municipal park; what you are looking for is already the county's.
- A library card and everything behind it. This town sits inside the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District and has a branch carrying its own name; the district's headquarters branch is nearby too. And that card may be the most valuable item on this page, because the system's own material describes a separate card type for people who cannot prove an address: borrowing is limited to five items at a time and the material states no expiry. But we keep the hedge heavy: the system's own site was never reachable this round, this was read from the organization's material indirectly, and we could not verify which documents are required. No statement was found that a Social Security Number is required, but that is a not found, not a not required. Ring the branch and ask for the card type by name.
- The federal fossil monument at the north of the valley is free. In the agency's own words no fee or pass is required to enter. Do not put its administrative mailing address into a satnav.
- The library park pass. We covered it above: two per library, one week, and it covers the museum entry at the state historic park north of the valley. So with luck a library card produces a free museum day. It does not work at the federal landscape to the west.
- Federal fee-free days: the two remaining in 2026 after this page goes live are 27 October 2026 and 11 November 2026. Put them in the calendar. Free entry is, in the agency's words, for U.S. citizens and residents, and other charges such as timed entry may still apply on those days. The 2027 list will be different.
Cheap, but not free
We write all three as discounts, not as free entry. All three apply at the large culture and nature attraction in the middle of the valley.
| Route | What it gives | What it asks for |
|---|---|---|
| A national museum discount scheme | 3 USD per person, for up to four people | A maternal and child nutrition program, food assistance, or the EBT card itself |
| A bank's museum program | One free general admission | An active credit or debit card from that bank and photo identification; only on the first full weekend of each month |
| A national program for military families | Free general admission for active personnel and up to five family members | Between Armed Forces Day and Labor Day, and one of the listed military identity documents |
- Do not skip the Nevada resident price. At the same attraction, Nevada residents pay 9.95 USD for an adult and 4.95 USD for a child aged 3 to 17; non-residents pay 18.95 USD and 10.95 USD; under-2s are free but still need a ticket. So being able to show you are a resident almost halves the price. What counts as proof is not published, so ask before you go. The venue does not take cash, only card or mobile payment.
- We correct a common error: some travel sites say the state museum on the same campus is free for under-17s. The museum's own page prices ages 3 to 17. That sentence belongs to other members of the state museum system.
- One boundary, stated plainly: the door to the first two routes runs through being enrolled in an assistance program or being a bank's customer. This page does not recommend that anyone enrol in an assistance program; the immigration consequences of a benefits application are in the public benefits section.
- Do not look for a statewide culture card for low-income households: one state in this series had one, but the research found no equivalent here. We do not say there is none; we say we did not find one.
Places to visit knowing they are paid
- The valley's children's museum: open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 to 17:00 and Sunday 12:00 to 17:00; also open on Mondays during holidays, in summer and in school breaks; closed at Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year. We do not publish the price, because the museum's own visit page gives none and we could not read its discounts page. Ask about prices and discounts on (702) 382-3445.
- Museums inside state parks: the entrance fees are in the section above. If you have a library park pass, one of them comes free.
- The state museum system has seven museums, but few are within reasonable reach of here and one member in the north is currently closed for refurbishment with no reopening date given. Do not set off on the strength of the system list.
What is not on this list, and why
- The name or price of any hotel, show or entertainment venue on the corridor. None was verified this round and prices and age limits change constantly. Ask about the age limit before you pay.
- Any figure for the federal landscape to the west, and we explained in the section above that a timed entry reservation is required there for eight months of the year.
- A municipality's park and free events list. There is no municipality here, so no such list exists; that is not an access failure but the structure itself. We could not read neighboring municipalities' lists this round.
- Document lists for the library card types. The system's site could not be read.
- Opening hours for the parks above and the season for the water spray park. We could not read the park pages themselves; ring and ask.
- We do not write seasonal items as if they applied all year. Water play areas, outdoor events and some park hours depend on the season; fire restrictions in state parks are seasonal too.
- The name of any community association, cultural center or place of worship. We could not verify any of them from its own site this round.
28 · Turkish consulate
Where are Turkish consular matters handled from Enterprise?
Short answer
Nevada falls within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Los Angeles. We verified that from the list rather than by assumption: the mission's own site gives its jurisdiction as 12 states plus the Pacific Islands, and Nevada appears eighth on both of the two pages that carry the list. There is no Turkish authority anywhere in Nevada where you can attend in person. Two traps are worth naming before you travel. First, the Consulate General is not in the City of Los Angeles; it is in Beverly Hills, which is exactly the thing you live with here every day: a place's postal name does not tell you whose jurisdiction it sits in. Second, two pages of the mission's own site disagree with each other on the e-mail address and on working hours, and we print both.
Steps, documents and official links
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Mission | Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Los Angeles, operating since 1968 |
| Address | 8500 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 900, Beverly Hills, CA 90211. The mission has been at this address since June 2020 |
| Switchboard | +1 (424) 313-8800 |
| Duty officer, out of hours emergencies | +1 (310) 779-3288 |
| Consular call center, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week | +1 (888) 566-7656 |
| E-mail, conflict recorded | The contact page prints [email protected]; the about page prints a spelling missing one letter, [email protected]. Try the contact page address first, then the other if nothing comes back |
| Working hours, conflict recorded | The contact page says weekdays 08:30 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 17:00; the about page says 09:00 to 17:00. We take no side; confirm with the call center before you travel |
| In-person application hours, the two pages agree | 09:00 to 12:30 |
| Telephone enquiry hours | 14:00 to 17:00 |
| Consul General | Menekşe Onuk |
Two traps, and both mean a wasted journey
- The building is not in Los Angeles. The mission's own contact page prints the address as Beverly Hills, CA 90211. Typing Los Angeles into a map and setting off can cost you the appointment. You already know this trap: a household here has Las Vegas on its post but the City of Las Vegas does not serve the address, and even the police command named after this town carries a Las Vegas address. The same logic works two thousand kilometres away: a postal name is not a jurisdiction. We set out the version of it that applies here in the local services section.
- The attaché offices are in a different building. The Office of the Attaché for Religious Services is in the same building as the Consulate General (+1 (424) 313-9449), but the Office of the Educational Attaché and the Office of the Commercial Attaché are at a different address: 5455 Wilshire Blvd. Educational Attaché Suite 804, +1 310 342 5222, [email protected]; Commercial Attaché Suite 1120, +1 323 852 1894, [email protected]. Do not go to the Consulate General for a school equivalence matter; make two appointments at two addresses and work out in advance whether they fit into one day.
Jurisdiction: twelve states, one mission
According to the mission's own list its jurisdiction covers Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming, plus the Pacific Islands. The same page states that this is one of six Turkish consular missions in the United States, the others being in Boston, Chicago, Houston, Miami and New York, and that the Embassy in Washington also has a consular section.
We publish no distance figure, because none came from a source this round. What can be said is that the journey from the south of this valley is not the same journey as from the north of the state; plan around your own address. The statewide picture is in our Nevada guide.
What is handled there
The procedure categories on the mission's own enquiry form show in practice what runs through it:
- Birth notification and civil registry matters
- Marriage notification
- Passport matters
- Military service matters
- Notarial acts, powers of attorney and signature certification
- Turkish citizenship matters
- Estate matters
- Education and visa headings, information requests and appointments
Booking, checking and cancelling appointments run through the mission's own menu, which is split into consular procedures for Turkish citizens and visa pre-application for foreign nationals.
We do not publish a document list here. Each procedure has its own fee and its own list, and we could not verify them one by one this round. Travelling to another state with the wrong documents would be the most expensive advice this page could give; confirm the list from the appointment menu and the call center.
The one piece of good news from here: no time conversion
The Consulate General is in the Pacific time zone as well, so its published appointment and telephone hours are already your hours. In some settlements in this series the reader had to convert the agency's hours; not here. Against that, the in-person window is three and a half hours a day; if you want to finish more than one matter in a single trip, book the appointments on the same day or on consecutive days.
Writing your address, and here the problem is doubled
When you send a form or a parcel to the mission, or write an address on a document, readers confuse two things. The first we set out above: the consulate's postal name is Beverly Hills. The second is on your own side: your postal address does not carry your town's name either. If a form asks where you live, write what is on your envelope and add the county if an explanation is needed; writing the town's name alone is, in most systems, a name with no match. For the same reason, when you are waiting for a document to arrive, remember that tracking follows the ZIP code, not the place name.
Three things to try before you travel
- e-Devlet. Civil registry, address and some document matters can be done remotely; check there first which of them can.
- The call center. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so there is no time difference problem with Türkiye, and it is the fastest way to learn which documents are needed. It is also the fastest way to close the working-hours conflict above.
- Courier or post. Some procedures run by sending documents. Ask the call center or the mission which ones are accepted; do not post documents on your own initiative.
2026 closure days
The 2026 holiday list published on the mission's own contact page contains days falling after this page goes live, and two are immediately ahead: 12 October and 29 October. The list also carries 11 November, 26 November and 25 December 2026, and 1 January 2027. The list is annual, so check the current one before booking.
29 · Apostille
How do I use a document issued in Enterprise in Türkiye?
Short answer
Both Türkiye and the United States are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, so a document issued here needs an apostille, not consular legalisation, to be used in Türkiye. In the Hague Conference's own register of competent authorities, the authority shown for Nevada is the Nevada Secretary of State, together with the chief deputy and the deputy. We publish no fee, turnaround or address in this section, for a concrete reason: every one of that office's sites sat behind a bot wall this round and we could not read the procedure from the agency itself. What we can state with confidence is the thing that actually costs money and time: the apostille door is not one door but four, and sending a document to the wrong one means the packet comes back.
Steps, documents and official links
Four doors, and which document goes to which
| Type of document | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| A document issued by the State of Nevada or by a Nevada county (birth, death, marriage, a court order, a notarised document) | Nevada Secretary of State, or the chief deputy or deputy |
| A document issued by a federal agency (a naturalisation certificate, for example) | The U.S. Department of State's authentications office. It does not go to the state |
| A consular report of birth, death or marriage for a U.S. citizen born abroad | The vital records section of the Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs |
| A document issued by a U.S. federal court | The clerk or a deputy clerk of that court. The Hague list names the relevant federal district court for Nevada |
Why this table matters to a Turkish reader in particular: a newcomer household's apostille packet is usually mixed. The birth certificate of a child born here goes to the state, while a naturalisation certificate in the same envelope goes to a federal office, not to the state. Putting everything in one envelope and sending it to one authority means the packet comes back untouched a month later.
The first link in the chain is not a town matter here
An apostille chain begins with obtaining the document, and there is no counter in this town where you can obtain one. Two things belong together:
- A child born here is a county birth. This town has no vital records office of its own and no city counter either. On the county side the counterpart is the Southern Nevada Health District; on the state side it is the state's own vital records office.
- The two counters do not even hold the same years, and their fees differ. Which one you need is set out in the birth certificate section; an apostille chain that starts at the wrong counter has to be started again.
- A marriage certificate works the same way: there is no marriage counter in this town, and both the license and the record sit with the county clerk. See the marriage section.
What we are not writing, and why
- No fee. We could not read the per-document amount from the state authority's own page.
- No turnaround. We could not read the standard processing time or any expedited option.
- No address or counter. We could not read whether applications go by post or in person, where any in-person counter is, or whether an appointment is needed.
- No pre-certification chain. In some states in this series a document had first to be certified by a county clerk or the state registrar. We could not verify whether Nevada has such a step and we write nothing either way.
- Nothing about how foreign-issued documents are treated.
Ask all of it in one place: the state authority's own site. Confirm by telephone before you prepare the envelope and ask for the answer in writing.
Do not break the order
- Obtain the document from the right counter. Mind the two-counter distinction above and do not look for a counter inside the town.
- Translate it if needed and have the translation notarised. None of the apostille authorities in this series performs translation. We could not read the Nevada authority's own rule on translation, so we state no firm requirement; ask before you send the envelope.
- Take the apostille last. An apostilled document cannot be altered afterwards.
The other direction: using a Turkish document in the United States
For Turkish documents you will use in a U.S. immigration file the direction reverses: those documents are apostilled in Türkiye and submitted here with a certified English translation. No authority in this valley performs that step.
30 · Time and flights
What is the time difference between Enterprise and Türkiye, and how do you get to Istanbul?
Short answer
This town uses Pacific time, which produces one of the widest gaps in this series: Türkiye is 10 hours ahead in summer and 11 in winter. Türkiye stays on the same clock all year and does not observe daylight saving; here daylight saving applies, so the gap shifts by an hour twice a year on its own. The practical consequence is harsh: there is almost no window in which you and a Turkish government office or bank are awake at the same time. On flights we write this: we could not find a non-stop flight from this valley's airport to Istanbul, so the journey starts with a connection.
Steps, documents and official links
How many hours, and when it changes
| Period | Gap to Türkiye | If it is 09:00 here, in Türkiye it is |
|---|---|---|
| During daylight saving | Türkiye is 10 hours ahead | 19:00 |
| During standard time | Türkiye is 11 hours ahead | 20:00 |
- Clocks go back on the first Sunday in November at 02:00. For 2026 that is 1 November 2026. So in the days this page goes live the gap is 10 hours, and after the first week of November it is 11. Türkiye does not shift, so you experience the change one-sidedly.
- Clocks go forward on the second Sunday in March at 02:00.
- Almost all of the state sits in one zone, so traveling north or south within Nevada does not change your clock. The single exception drawn in the regulation's own text is a city at the eastern edge of the state and is a long way from here.
- The consulate is in the same zone. The Consulate General in Los Angeles is on Pacific time, so its published appointment and telephone hours are already your hours. The detail is in the consulate section.
The practical window for calling Türkiye
- The trap runs the other way: if a bank, hospital or government office in Türkiye works weekdays 09:00 to 17:00, the window from here begins in the early hours of the night and ends before dawn. This series has seen gaps of seven and eight hours; here it is ten and eleven, so the window is narrower still.
- Two channels solve it: e-Devlet and the 24-hour consular call center. Both remove the time difference entirely.
- Tell people calling you from Türkiye: an hour that is mid-afternoon there is the middle of the night here. Plan appointments and family calls accordingly.
Flying to Istanbul
- The valley's airport is Harry Reid International Airport, code LAS, operated by the Clark County Department of Aviation. Its own airline list carries 31 airlines and the Turkish flag carrier is not on it. The European carriers on the list fly to other points.
- The conclusion, written carefully: the research did not find a non-stop flight from here to Istanbul. Our basis is the absence of the Turkish flag carrier from the airline list. We do not write flatly that there is none, because we could not read the airport's point-by-point route list this round. Look at connecting options and confirm the routing on the carrier's own site.
- A jurisdictional point, and this town's main trap works here too: the airport is inside no municipal boundary, it sits in the unincorporated area of the county, and the county operates it. The postal address says Las Vegas, but it is not an airport run by the City of Las Vegas. And there is one more layer: in the census agency's statistical boundaries the airport falls not to this town but to a neighboring census place. So the same point has three correct answers and none of them is a municipality. We set out all three layers in the local services section.
- A time-limited warning: the airport announced on its own site that lane closures in its connector tunnels run through December 2026 and asked travellers to allow extra time. Leave more time on the day you fly.
- Baggage and identification: the document you use on an international flight is your passport. Where the state's cards do and do not work in the air is set out in the driving license section; you cannot board a plane with a driver authorization card.
